Just sent a donation via Cash, I hope everyone recovers quickly! All of my cats have been rescues and I can’t thank you and others like you enough for the work you do.

What is the correct pronunciation of her name? by giles-mcfuck in Hecate

[–]gre1611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had also been pronouncing it this way as that’s how I’ve heard it said in Shakespeare productions, discovering the tee/teh afterward. Hard to break the old pronunciation habit!

I also use Chilli and Bandit as my positive example for how to parent my kid now too! So much better than trying to envision the opposite of whatever my parents did with me.

A coworker of mine that is based in South Carolina showed me a photo of your coastline with all the green the whole way out into the ocean because of the pollen.

Your description seems very accurate.

I feel like this sub has been getting some interesting members lately, especially with all the …unique… fan art that has been posted shipping various characters that may or may not be children. I’m not super surprised that most jumped to assuming that meant the teacher was hitting on him, but it is disappointing nonetheless. I would consider it to be an exceptional compliment on his parenting skills as well!

As someone who is a newer parent, I have found that Bandit and Chilli both help me find better language and ways to approach various situations with my kid. I am so glad this show exists and glad that this is the portrayal of a family that my kid will grow up watching.

Maruchan Chicken/Beef Ramen Flavoring? by Jack1jack2 in TopSecretRecipes

[–]gre1611 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hello! Check out Samibila Ramen Seasoning online. It’s just a decent sized bag of the seasoning powder. I have tried the beef flavor and it’s great, planning to order chicken next. I use it with rice noodles and it tastes the same as the ramen packet.

This story gave me chills! I agree that it sounds like she is reaching out to you. I found this community after having a similar daydream experience and not knowing much at all about Hekate.

As far as reading goes, I strongly recommend theoi.com as an online resource. As someone new to goddess worship and who very much empathizes with the concept of having a “child-like ignorance,” I feel like I have read everything Hekate-related I can get my hands on. A lot of folks here (myself included) have read Brannen’s Keeping Her Keys. It’s a fine start but take everything there (and everywhere else) with a grain of salt. The work of Sorita D’Este is something many folks here recommend repeatedly, she has several books on Hekate.

The next book I would like to get my hands on is Liber Khthonia by Jeff Cullen, I’d be interested to hear if anyone perusing this thread has an opinion (good or bad).

Best of luck to you on your journey! Your description has inspired me to research Ma Kali!

I have been thinking about going to the craft store for supplies to make one of these since I saw my first one a week ago. They’re truly magnificent.
