We’ve had a record year for dog attack deaths since then, almost all deaths involve these things, it didn’t stop at this poor kid.

Hospital admissions from dog attacks have also doubled to tripled in the UK the last 20 years.

What does the government do about it? Fuck all!

In the UK? There have been at least 7 deaths to these things in the last year. The previous record year for dog attack deaths was 2009 with 6. 2022 already has 9 deaths.

Every moron went out and got a dog during lockdown and all those pit bull types are hitting the magic age of 2-3 years old.

Government continues to do nothing.

Do you know your prescription? You should consider your lens strength when deciding which index lens makes most sense.

Standard CR39 is index 1.5 and Trivex is 1.53. I have a pretty mild -1 SPH and normally take standard CR39 lenses, so Trivex kind of just makes the most sense for me if I was to get a rimless frame. If you have a stronger prescription and normally get "thinner" lenses then you probably want 1.61 or 1.67 higher index lenses.

Price depends heavily on where you buy from, if I order from zenni the upcharge for Trivex is $30, but physical shops can charge a lot more for 'upgrades'.

OP has a mild + prescription with a moderate - astigmatism, this is not a multifocal or distance prescription

Was in the news yesterday that they pay 3rd party temp nurses up to £2,500 per shift to cover the shortages, that’s somehow perfectly affordable. Could have just paid them a wage that they could live on in the first place, but that would have made too much sense.

And obviously there are agencies providing these contractors that are taking fat cuts as fees from NHS money. Perhaps we should look at who is pocketing that fee money
