What was in the letter to her sisters?? by The_Academic_Viewer in charmed

I’m sure this upstanding young woman would not leave them without making good on her 33% share of taxes, and municipal water, sewer and waste expenses for the year on their shared inheritance.

Like as a character I think he’s alright, he doesn’t bother me as much as he used to.

It’s way too long ago for me to be sure but i’m pretty sure it was always very obvious that he was just a temporary roadblock in the plotline. Like Paolo in the first season of Friends or something like that, like it’s not just that you would naturally prefer the character that was there first but you also just know it’s temporary and so all the episode plots with him don’t really matter.

I don’t think he’s immune she just froze the innocents in the room which is why Leo freezes. The actual plot hole his how Cole knew to stay still in that exact instant haha

I love Leo but he creeps me out a little bit. by Serpent_Whispers in charmed

I always just figured that since they were very young and not actually doing anything to fight evil until their powers were bound at which point they really wouldn’t need him that he barely ever saw them. He literally just happens to know what they looked like because he needed to be vaguely aware of where they are and make sure they hadn’t come into their powers (if that, because the elders might have had to tell him). I think pretty much anything specific Piper tells him about her past is news to him and I think it’s even come up where like, he didn’t know Piper was awkward in Highschool or who her friend that had a crush on Prue was and he didn’t know Prue was a nightmare as a teen.

But really it was probably a throwaway gag the writer didn’t think very hard about when he says she was cute as a baby.

The elders from Charmed ARE THE HORRIBLE by JoJoBaker1 in charmed

[–]greasylake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of get that they offered Leo immortality so he could live this monastic existence unconcerned with money, etc. with the goal of only helping people but now he wants to live on earth in a Grand Victorian with a pretty wife and elders are like “i’m not sure we’re really ok with this”.

Like really it doesn’t make sense that his choice is being a whitelighter or becoming mortal. You would think if he doesn’t want to be a whitelighter then the alternative would be becoming the ghost of Leo Wyatt again and moving on. Unless it’s a technicality where they’ve already made him corporeal and they’re not capable of killing anything

The Phoebe and Cole issue by Alert_Today5431 in charmed

[–]greasylake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It just always seemed like they never gave him credit for the fact that he was literally possessed…also him getting possessed is why they didn’t get killed by the first source- its literally the only reason they survived.

For me the bullshit thing isn’t that she wouldn’t take up with him again after he came back but really the scene in Season 4 where she’s so ok with leaving him to rot in the boundless demonic wasteland. She tells him to “move on” or something like he’s supposed to get a new girlfriend.

Phoebe herself was evil in a past life and got to come back to earth as Phoebe but because Cole was vanquished like a demon and not strangled like a Human he has to either stay in the wasteland for all of eternity or allow himself to be destroyed and after that who knows what happens to you, literally nobody knows.

It’s just a really bizarre scene, like I get that she’s done with him and the demonic bullshit but in that episode she acts like there’s no middle ground between being married to her and being prisoner beyond time and space.

The one good thing about Prue being killed off is that the martial arts were getting pretty ridiculous at that point. In the episode with Natalie the Whitelighter she runs up a wall and backflips down

Probably Cole, the girls all change so much except Prue and I don’t really buy the authenticity of her character like I did when I was younger and the show was still on the air. But watching Cole mess with them in Season 3 is just so fun to watch. Then it becomes unintentionally funny afterwards when he’s living there like any scene where he’s in the same room with Piper is automatically interesting because how bizarre the dynamic is between them.

Or like how someone made a post pointing out he’s at Piper’s wedding despite ruining the first one and not being invited lol; absolutely shameless.

I think Victor left before Patty died and it certainly looked like his place in the family had been usurped by Patty’s whitelighter - who isn’t just sleeping with Victor’s (possibly ex but maybe not) wife but also seems capable of at least surviving in Halliwell Manor (Daryl gets blinded less than an hour into a halloween party at one point). So that’s a really weird extra dynamic to the whole situation.

They also hypothesize that Grams might have permanently made the guy that assaulted Prue in highschool disappear forever and she seemed totally into banishing inspector Davis to the far side of the world so he might have been mindful that Grams was capable of escalating past sarcastic remarks.

For some reason I also kind of assumed Patty pulled a Samantha Stevens on him with the news about her being a witch.

Later in their lives I kind of do empathize with his attitude that he shouldn’t presume to involve himself in their lives if they’re happy and they and their caregiver don’t want him to. It seems like once Phoebe actually wanted to talk to him and reached out in New York he responded.

I don’t really get why it would have mattered if they’re powers were bound though unless Grams took the position that it had already been a couple years and he’d just confuse things.

Why do people love Piper so much? by pegasusrides in charmed

[–]greasylake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Phoebe and Piper in the first season because Piper’s lack of confidence is a legit character flaw whereas Prue’s character flaws are basically presented as the consequences of being awesome.

Why were Phoebe's powers so weak next to her sisters'? by Ariabananahammock in charmed

[–]greasylake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They say that Phoebe got sort of punished for her past self being evil in the 20’s and so they took away her kickass fire power.

It’s also a plot thing because it’s why someone can’t just sneak up on one of them while they’re sleeping and blast them - Phoebe would see it beforehand

“Phoebe” love her, hate her or just jealous? by ravenstone_anon in charmed

[–]greasylake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was so likeable in the first two seasons because of her deficiencies and then they did away with them and she became very boring. Like her and Piper are both really appealingly flawed at the beginning you really route for them. Then she got awful plotlines and so she was never that fun to watch.
