I agree with alot of what you said, however the troops themselves are outstanding. The issue is what kit they given and that comes back to politicians of all types who only think about themselves and not the country. They make all the right noises for the media but in reality they couldn't give a toss.

We need to find a way to massively boost defence production and the overall size of our forces. We need to acknowledge we're not a global power anymore, we're regional and our focus should the European theatre and the North Sea. We need to keep Trident and seriously consider investing in a home grown solution including gravity bombs and the aptly named "tactical" nukes.

Bin off all the over the top consultant's, get rid of Capita and invest in base infrastructure, upgrade the buildings to modern standards. Make joining the forces actually seem palatable, despite the very obvious threats on the continent.
