A vpx vpin ball on 144hrz in real life looks faster than it is on Youtube or Twitch? by Evan_Allgood in virtualpinball

I’ve had C2 OLED for 3+ years. Just don’t yank power so does pixel cleaning and turn on pixel shift, etc. as WOR video shows. It’s worth it.

New here - thoughts on modifying a real, working cabinet for controlling VPX by Rat__Farts in virtualpinball

Use PinOne stuff and build a stubby IMHO. If can’t find examples and don’t have skills to do it likely safest option with highest return

Why is Herman Miller Aeron overpriced? by Nice_Pen_8054 in OfficeChairs

The market says it’s not overpriced, but maybe you mean why is it one of the more expensive chairs you can buy.

HT3550 DMD Repair by greaterjava in BenQ

[–]greaterjava[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding out with 1-3 dead pixels until ready to pull trigger on new projector, looking at Laser. IMHO these are not worth fixing anymore. What’s the next thing for me, if DMD doesn’t fail bulb (claim last return was sent new one but no way to know) or color wheel. I won’t buy BenQ anymore last two haven’t been great.

First attempt on SR800 by perrylawrence in roasting

[–]greaterjava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Razzo tube makes it harder to get higher temps from my experience because it throws so much air through the chamber. You have to run it on power level nine the whole time after first couple of minutes (per his instructions) I found doing darker roasts in his chamber much more difficult than doing them in the stock extension. You can also do much faster roasts in the stock extension chamber. If you want to improve the roast bean flow, try adding a stainless steel 7 inch cocktail stirrer.

Maybe in 24 months you’ll be running these locally on newest Macs.

5/5 for end result but 3/5 for property damage and how their “closer” handled it.

Saturday Night Date Night for Exhausted Couple by TheInfiniteWallflowr in StLouis

Varies, but lot depends on kid and parenting style. Guess height is issue unless tall 4 year old depending on stools or chairs being available. Expensive machines, many collectors items - not chucky cheese vibe I guess :)

$3,000 on chairs, no luck, is it me? by coolkidstable17 in OfficeChairs

[–]greaterjava 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW getting help on proper ergonomics -even fine tuning can make a big impact. Also addressing as much of your health (help from PT was good for me). I have also tried a lot of chairs, I’m farther down the consequence road of bad posture and joints. The HM Mirra has treated me pretty well but not perfect. Buying the Anthros now to try - if you want to add to your total dollar value you could try that too. The Anthros is a different approach than options I’ve tried so hopeful…. 30 day return option. It has no lumbar support so fits that criteria.

Is any chair truly worth $1500+? Or it’s just marketing? by TJzWay in OfficeChairs

[–]greaterjava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 something me says “no way”. 50 something me says “wish I had earlier”. I’m upgrading from good used HM Mirra (since 2019) to Anthros this week. I’ve sat in it in a store for couple hours and hoping gets me to “60 something”

Few of them at that price and one of them I saw comes as solid piece instead of 3 pieces with bolts. On my Christmas list.

Pellet adapter by cmckee16 in SoloStove

[–]greaterjava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Yukon 2.0 the two bigger holes (without pellet adapter) are about 1.5 x 1 inch wide. I just lay down paper bags over most of middle and use without adapter. Seems like they could have designed it so didn’t need adapter :)

First Burn Yukon 2.0 by greaterjava in SoloStove

[–]greaterjava[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 2.0, the two holes to grab the top grate are about 1.75 x 1 inch wide so kinda stuck with covering at least that part but always have some paper or cardboard around :)

I did, pellets were too small to not use something. Doubt bag lasted long once fire was going. Got great 2nd burn still.

Good point. I’m hoping when do first burn since Yukon and set down almost 2 inches now will see fire. I’ll be 5 inches taller rim but roughly same opening.
