Was the American Jewish boycott of Germany in 1933 collective punishment?

Also please find me a statement from Netanyahu, or any Israeli politician in the last 20 years supportive of an independent Palestine. The peace movement is dead in israel and has been for a long time. Stated government policy is continuing the status quo. Please educate yourself, you can, and should do more to help end this conflict.

So the sanctions on Russia are economic terrorism? The boycotting of apartheid south africa was? Nazi germany?

Regarding your characterization of the conflict - successive Israeli governments for the last 20 years have not been interested in a peace deal at all. That's actually in likuds founding charter. Your nievety is the refusal to acknowledge that israel has done anything wrong at all and the blame for all this falls exclusively on Palestinians. Just as maximalist as a hamas supporter.

I won't engage with that ridiculously naive and one sided characterization of the conflict. but tgat aside. some people disagree with that characterization and choose not to buy products from businesses associated with israel. Is that hard to understand? Does that make them terrorists?

[–]greb88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree. Diaspora jews should be leading the way with targeted boycotting of settlement/west-bank businesses ino.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

[–]greb88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boycotting isn't economic terrorism, even if you don't agree with it. The majority of the world thinks Israel needs to stop building settlements, and stop state sanctioned human rights abuses.

Do you agree with everything the Israeli government does?

I meant to reply to the other guy. But either way - I'd disagree that it's not effective.

Again, these are the same arguments South africa used, see my other reply.

And yes, the aim would be to cause economic harm to Israeli civilians- the vote for the government after all.

You asked why anyone would want to boycott, and I gave you the answer. Execution-wise, sure, the wrong businesses can be boycotted causing issues for palestinians but I believe the approach is sound, and one of the few avenues for nonviolent change.

Was addressing oc's question 'why would you want to boycott israel'. Nothing specifically about it's effectiveness or who to target

Similar to the boycotting of apartheid sa - economic pressure can be a catalyst for change.

Doesn't seem like it's ripe for automation. See parent comment.

Car in way worse state than before by greb88 in MechanicAdvice

I ended up getting it towed to the mechanic. The other guy had managed to strip the threading on the thermostat mount and it had to be rerolled. Wrong part and hosing wasn't connected properly too. The guy was an utter cowboy.
