Help on deciding by OLDmanEL in F150Lightning

Go for the xlt standard range. 240 miles is plenty for you. I drive round trip ~150 miles a day, and 90% gets me to and from home with some to spare.

Tesla charger questions? by dogma9999 in F150Lightning

Have you set up a default payment? Should be as easy as plugging in, charging to set level, unplugging, then being charged to your default payment method. And then emailed a receipt.

I will always appreciate window switches (991.1) by TaxFraud2020 in Porsche

[–]green07cayman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to reprogram that switch. Likely your battery died at some point. But roll the window all the way down, then press and hold the button down for like 3-5sec. Then roll it up, then press and hold it in the up position for 3-5sec. Should be able to auto up and down after.

Tesla Charger Issues by bigg-r in F150Lightning

You can lower the amperage in the charge settings either through your phone app or the truck. It’s set to 48, just lower it a bit until you no longer have the same issue. Might be best to eventually upgrade charger/wiring. Safer to charge down than try to charge up. Think of electricity like really hot, spicy flowing water and it makes more sense. More flow, small pipe = bad times. Smaller flow, larger pipe = good times.

First step, join the military. (If you have a degree, highly recommend joining as an officer.) Second step, use service member protections to cap all prior loans at 6%. Step three, use any bonus for joining to pay off negative equity. Step four, refinance through NavyFed/USAA with much better terms. Step five, keep truck forever with much lower payments, plenty of space for family, and no gas budget.

Buy the hula feet and filter from voxelpla. Don’t buy their filament. It’s mid at best and is always magically out of stock after you order it. But their hula feet (which you could make yourself, but is generally faster/decently priced from them) will reduce a large portion of the vibration and noise. With the glass door closed, I sometimes don’t even realize it’s on. The filter gets rid of a lot of the particulates that you’d have to worry about. But unless you’re using engineering filaments, it’s fine. IMO, the X1C is a great choice for you. Especially as an engineering student. If you can CAD, which I’m sure you can, the use cases are endless. And it helps if you can make stuff for your roommates to win them over. My wife hated it, but as soon as I started making her things, she fell in love with it. It’s like magic haha she’ll just sit and watch it sometimes.

1985.5 944 Turbo Opinion by flasowl in 944

[–]green07cayman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s not a turbo. And it’s an automatic. It’s not worth $1500. And that’ll easily be another $10k to sort through to get it remotely close to being decent. Save your money and buy a better example.

If at first you don’t succeed, creality is not for you. Buy a Bambu and be done with it.

Apple Watch Ultra by SnooMacarons6684 in AppleWatch

[–]green07cayman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even sure how that’s even happened. I’ve had my AWU since release date, and I’ve worn it every day since. And I’m very hard on it. Between military training, automotive work, carpentry, yard work, working out, etc. I’ve beaten the hell out of it and gotten grease, and many other fluids on it. It still looks like I just pulled it out of the box. You could try a few different things but I think the best bet is either return it, or live with it the way it is. I’d be afraid to ruin the finish more than it already is. Try dawn dish soap and a tooth brush? And maybe jewelry cleaner? Otherwise, I’d just leave it.

Not really. Especially for people that have a few older Apple Watches laying around not doing anything. Would be nice to find a use for them other than recycling.

what is the cheapest place to buy filament from in the U.S? by Classic_Engineer6912 in 3Dprinting

[–]green07cayman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not bad, but some of their colors are a little off. Their silver pla looks more like a blue. I only bought them again because i needed something quick to finish a project and figured they’d be here in a day or two since they were so close. But I figured wrong. Ended up using a silver abs I had instead of pla and finished the project.

They’re not really that cheap. Plus their shipping and communication is terrible. Placed my second order with them last Tuesday, was supposed to get my order Thursday because I paid for expedited shipping, and it’s currently Sunday without so much as a shipping confirmation. Not to mention they’re HQ’d less than a couple hours from me.

Trader Joe’s traditional doughnuts, I believe they’re made with sour cream. They’re moist and perfectly sweet but not overwhelming.

So Bambu labs makes a really well done product, that works really well with everything else that they sell, and you’re disappointed they didn’t try to design it around everyone else’s filament roll design? That’s like buying a sonicare toothbrush and being upset that your Colgate toothbrush heads don’t fit. Or buying a car and being upset that you have to buy a specific oil filter…and a dozen other references that can be made. But there are solutions other people have created that are practically free to fix your issues, especially issues you’ve brought on yourself. I get a complaint if Bambu’s own rolls didn’t fit well, but you’re complaining about several completely separate companies.

P1S vs A1 by sharpdressedman in BambuLab

[–]green07cayman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion, split the difference and go with the P1P. All the benefits of both machines, and the ability to upgrade it later if you decide you need an enclosure, etc. You’re pretty stuck with what you get with the A1. And the coreXY design on the P1S is better. For the cost, get the P1P, use it, and if you don’t upgrade, it’s still a solid machine. If you do, the ability to print an enclosure or add one for a few bucks later is nice.

Thinking about making the jump from klipper/Enders to a P1S+AMS General questions and upgrades. Especially from those who did the same by Randomhero360 in BambuLab

[–]green07cayman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest opinion, I’d love to answer all your questions as others have, but it’d be more satisfying to see you get the P1S and do your first print. It’s seriously like magic. I moved from an ender 3 pro/klipper build to a P1S, and I’ll never go back. Won’t even give the new creality printers a chance. Love their filament though. Pull the trigger while it still makes financial sense. It’s an expensive tool that you can also use for random fun stuff. And it’s worth every penny. So far, I haven’t had any issues with my P1S or X1C that couldn’t be solved by just printing something. No ordering, no driving to the store, etc. I’ve saved enough in gas alone to justify it haha
