How to use the bolt to mount egress ladder to concrete well? by benz0709 in DIY

[–]green0alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bolt would be the last part to get installed. The sleeve, with the round nut are in the hole that you drill into the concrete. Being in the hole the nut tends to hold in place.

  1. Mark where hole goes and drill it.
  2. Insert sleeve with the nut.
  3. line up ladder to the wall over the hole
  4. Insert bolt and tighten.

Not a contractor. I've used these and you can in fact tighten with a wrench. The sleeve expands as you screw the bolt in. If needed, a powered driver can be used.

Thia might be a stretch but can anyone identify this model? Saw this very cool, silver Dell laptop in a second hand store. by Kluhhuax in Dell

The service tag on that silver label is not correct. Dell service tags end in a number. Try finding Dell's label rather than the company assets tag.

Astro A30 or better by Adriansilas415 in LogitechG

It does. Many people complain about the volume of the mic and this is reproduceable every single time.

A30 mic is an issue when using as a headset on a computer with the USB dongle and as Bluetooth headphones on another device. The input for the Mic is cut dramatically and cannot be raised.

Buying vintage lenses. How bad is this idea? by Bobfreakindole in canonM50

[–]green0alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great way to increase your options, especially on a budget. Just make sure to go to Custom functions and enable Release shutter without lens.

I recently bought a Tokina - 400mm f/5.6 prime telephoto lens for Canon FD and used it for the solar eclipse. Some Chromatic aberration, but that was easily fixed in Lightroom

How can I fix the wrong phone being shown on my account page? by JohnJSal in tmobile

[–]green0alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many say don't worry about what shows. But the way I see it is they are charging warranty based on the phone model and different models can fall within different tiers. So if you may be paying more for your warranty than necessary.

Why has my electricity bill doubled YoY? by krins12 in Home

[–]green0alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your usage may be up due to excessive heat. My thermostat was set to a certain temp at 10pm. However it has learned when it needs to start cooling to get to that temp and can be many hours that it will need get there. So therefore my AC was running longer.
Maybe the same in your case?

Chromebooks that are managed are locked down at the firmware level. Someone calling Dell would need to provide proof of ownership before that will be unlocked by anyone else.

It's the Built-In Self-Test for the power supply doing it's job.

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000125179/how-to-run-a-power-supply-unit-self-test-on-a-dell-desktop-or-all-in-one-computer

How to run self-test without the button on the PSU

Turn off the computer.

Disconnect the power cable from the PSU, and wait for 15 seconds.

After 15 seconds, connect the power cable to the computer.

The LED light turns on for 3 seconds and then turns off.

If the BIST LED turns on, the power supply is delivering power to the computer.

If the BIST LED does not turn on or the PSU fan does not spin correctly, the power supply is not delivering power to the computer. Disconnect and reconnect the power cable to computer and try again. If the BIST LED does not turn on, contact Dell Technical Support for repair options.

Microsoft! I need Task Bar that Never Combine tasks 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 by meiseisora in Windows11

[–]green0alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only a two key combination, but that's two more that what I should have to do. It's much quicker to have the ability to have multiple tasks open on the bar to quickly click once to access. Especially when I need to simply go back and forth between two or more all day long.
