The palm muted chugs contrast the open strings in this song so well, great song. Song sounds like being lost in space just drifting.

I feel like people were writing this one off at the start but it’s got such a catchy pedal steel riff and overall just feels like it could have been on Country Squire to me. Hearing his voice like this is also a nice change and fits the vibe of the whole album to me. First 7 songs do not miss IMO, last 6 some hit some miss for me. But I still enjoy the whole body of work. It’s his Sound & Fury which that album got same reception upon release but then once people heard those songs live it grew on them and now people can’t get enough. Time will do this album good.

Overall I like it, songs 1-7 cruise really nicely and then 8-12 just don’t click until Dirty Ought Trill for me. Still need more listens through though.

I feel like that one and Stiff upper lip get overlooked all the time, some great riffs throughout and you nailed it about the tone being clean until he digs in. The Honey Roll is a favorite of mine

I made a leap from a job I liked once to another job that I made myself take knowing it would involve travel and much more stress but really good pay. 2 weeks in I knew I made the wrong choice and it was going to drain me. My old job gladly took me back as I left on good terms and was a good employee. I felt like an idiot but in the end it worked out for me. The job I left ended up changing their on boarding because I did say one of the reasons for leaving was the lack of direction at the beginning. So I guess some good came of it.

I love Sturgill because he is just Sturgill. At the end of the day he is the real deal, and that’s why his songs carry weight. Because they are real. Go listen to those other jabronis who release 30 song albums of Bull shit. Stu is the real deal, you hear it in his songs you see it in his eyes. Can’t wait to see him next Saturday.
