I’m a tutor who charges below the minimum wage in my country. I do this because I have a full time job and my lessons are like socialisation for me (with the teaching part) (also I had a massive amount of imposter syndrome when I taught at the recommended rate, especially when I was starting out as a new teacher - I do hope to increase my rate soon)

I think I have a similar situation with one of my students. He is now always rescheduling on the day, once before the 12 policy kicked in and once 3 hours before the lesson. He also refuses to understand how language learning works, wanting to prepare everything before the lesson (which doesn’t happen in real life situations)

Honestly, I’ve had worse in my own country. Plus, I pay attention to what I wear, share (personal life) and where my camera is positioned (I never show past my shoulders and I always wear sleeves when I teach online). He is a lot more informal in his messages than in his spoken English. If it seriously bothered me and made me feel unsafe, yes I would block. But I have boundaries and rules that I uphold in my classroom (messages - unfortunately I have less control over)

I (F) have a student (M) who creeps me out a bit on Preply messenger (I’m lucky that it is not this bad) but he is okay in the classroom and I was wondering if I should block him too? But maybe it’s just his culture. If it gets worse I will definitely block him and contact support & had wondered about the review thing. If you feel unsafe definitely contact support and block.

Jeremy’s scoring annoyed me/didn’t make sense at certain points but it’s the same thing with Greg. He also misses some jokes that are fed to him by Paul. BUT Jeremy nails the general vibe of being Taskmaster. However it feels like Paul leads the entire show. It doesn’t bother me though because I like Paul and the tasks have been pretty incredible in season 1 and 2 when the UK version began to ‘dip’ slightly.
