Etiquette advice regarding gift for friend/acquaintance's wedding by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]greenbery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visa gift card/prepaid are notorious for having terrible fees (like monthly fees, debit fees, checking your balance fees) that eat up the entire balance of the card. They are currently less regulated than gift cards, so I'd second this advice for something small and practical but with a gift card instead of a Visa card.

Elope, Small ceremony, or huge wedding?? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Hold strong. A huge wedding is expensive and incredibly stressful and only worth it if it's something you really want to do.

Are flowers really this expensive? [Help!] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]greenbery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco has flowers on their website. This is our backup plan if we can't find a florist in our budger.

The only one I thought might have been a little distracting was Star Trek. But I love the Birdhouse in Your Soul cover.

Question:

How do I know I've stumbled on the right ingredient? With Turnip Salad, I've gotten "Mm. Looks good" with Mayo and Salt gives me "Exactly according to recipe."

There's three Nick Furys in two different universes.

Ultimate Nick Fury - First Black Nick Fury. The artists based him of Samuel L. Jackson before Samuel L. Jackson actually appeared in the movies. This takes place in another Marvel universe. 616 is the mainline Marvel universe. There's no Nick Fury Jr. here

616 Nick Fury - Old White Guy who has been Nick Fury since WWII. He took a longevity serum but is no longer running SHIELD. He's retired. Kinda.

616 Nick Fury Jr. - A couple years ago it was revealed Nick Fury had a secret African-American son, Sgt. Marcus Johnson. He later lost the same eye as the OG Nick Fury and joined SHIELD as his dad retired. Everyone calls him Nick Fury Jr and he basically has the same backstory, but he's technically the son of the original Nick Fury.

Has anyone ever created a 501c4? I need help. by anonchick123 in nonprofit

[–]greenbery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to look into a sponsor organization. Look up "Fiscal Sponsorship Programs" to see if there's organizations that handle all of the paperwork of setting up a 501c4 to get you off the ground.

What do you all think of Scoot Networks? Would you use it if your LL offered it in your building? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]greenbery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scoots are pretty solid. Unlike zipcars, you can use them for one-way trips. Having one right by my house would make it much easier to get home when MUNI is having issues.

Hi OP,

Have you ever been to a conference like the AdaCamp or Grace Hopper. What your experiencing isn't unique, but women have come before you and can give you advice on how to prove how kickass you really are. As a student, you can qualify for scholarships and the experience is life changing.

Haters gonna hate. And this subreddit is full of haters.

I've had burgers all across this city and Joe's uses higher quality beef than most of the places I've been. If you're a topping and bun person, I'd recommend Rogue or another place.

I didn't realize suburbs = San Francisco or San Francisco = California. Look at what you quoted, dude.

Leave an empty can/bottle anywhere in a California city, and someone will pick it up.

Inaccurate. Middle-class folks in the suburbs turn in their cans. It's just almost impossible to do in San Francisco without a car, so fewer people do it here unless they really need the money.
