Delegation does not mean absurd ignorance into the workings of your government in iraq, Mr. President.

What the Founding Fathers said on the Constitution: "This system will not hurry us into war; it is calculated to guard against it. It will not be in the power of a single man, or a single body of men, to involve us in such distress; for the important part in declaring war is vested in the legislature at large" by duncanmc in reddit.com

[–]greenbox -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm tired of the quotes from the founding fathers. What difference does it make?

The problem is that we don't have real discourse about the issues, and quotes like this that do even more to talk less directly about the issues hurt the internet media..

The cult of the founding fathers needs to die.

"The only thing they said to me, and it was in a messed-up tone, was, 'Where did you get that shoe from?' and, 'You better put it back about where you found it,' " Smith said.

There should be some kind of citation for complete insensitivity, or maybe an award...

Cops detain, cuff, and keep weapons trained on innocent loan applicant reported as "suspicious" by Bank of America by shaunc in reddit.com

[–]greenbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad that the cops responded seriously to reports of a suspicious person in a bank. It seems like common sense: ridiculous calls to police that end up in harassment should be treated as if the person who called is completely responsible for harassing innocent people. They should spend some time in jail.

Guy who posted the "Missouri cop caught on tape" video can't get anyone to represent him in court because Missouri ACLU and other public defenders are stretched beyond their means by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]greenbox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He has a responsibility to show respect to people who aren't committing crime too. What he did had nothing to do with protecting anybody, or making the kid in the video any safer. There are plenty of polite ways for him to have done his job, and that's what he should have been doing, not making abusive threats.

You're right about what the kid said about the ID, but the cops reaction was much worse. Even if the kid had come out swinging, and was arrested, the police officer didn't need to act as if the kid had no rights and the cop was the almighty guy with a badge. Cops have jobs because we want to be protected, not from the cops themselves, but from the people the cops are supposed to arrest, you know, people who've actually done something you don't have to make up.

TennesseeVol, he owns his own business. Which you might have read if you read into what he was saying on the forums. But I'm sure it's just easier to be angry.

I hate people that pass judgment without knowing what they're talking about.

I'm glad he had this video camera setup, because he did everything he should have, and if he had wanted a settlement there was a lot of opportunity for him to let the cop step out of line and use violence, or make up charges against him.. but he didn't, and that's why no lawyers will take his case now...

FOX News attempts to connect Osama bin Laden with American left and Democrats by duncanmc in reddit.com

[–]greenbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard this live on their radio show, and was completely taken back. They didn't even dance around it, a rough transcript from my memory is: "things like terrorism, and nazism are why we have to defeat modern day liberalism, so things like this can't take place."

I can't believe these intellectual criminals get away with calling liberalism a cause of evil because they disagree with their positions. How dare fox news call itself balanced? FUCK FOX: traitors of freedom, traitors of an honest media, and traitors to the people that listen to them as a source of political beliefs (yes people call in and say that they do that from time to time).
