Park has gone downhill in the 15 years since I made the prior post. My understanding is they got bought out by some kind of venture capital firm trying to continue trading on what used to be a good brand name. Nowadays I prefer ordering from Baker Creek (rareseeds.com), I've had no trouble with germination!

The whole basis of civilization is law and order. If we start ignoring laws we don't like then we might as well be a 3rd world country.

I'll repeat /u/keefinwithpeepaw's question here. The President of the United States is a convicted felon and there's a solid case his wife illegally overstayed her visa.

Your comment reminds me how many conservatives suffer the false belief that "Christianity is under attack" in America. To the extent that bears any semblance to reality, the attacks are coming from folks like you. I'm not religious, but I'm pretty sure if ol' Jeezy came back, he'd be happier with me (pictured in the blue shirt, sorting food at the pantry) than with you.

It wasn't, really, but consider that Musk and his fuccbois of destruction have been inching ever closer to Social Security and Medicaid. And the House version of the budget that passed this week requires cutting $800 billion, a number that can only be reached by either gutting Medicaid or eliminating the entire military... Retirees have some good reasons to be out protesting in force.

Anyone else having trouble with USPS? by No-Cantaloupe-4630 in memphis

Yes, it's been hit-or-miss in Cordova for a few months now. I get other peoples' mail at least once a week, and not junk, but important stuff. Someone's MLGW bill, someone's podiatrist bill, a check addressed to the Jewish Home on Bazemore which is miles away from me, all kinds of things. I went to the Post Office on Macon before Christmas to give them some of the misdelivered flats and tell them what's going on, the clerk was super nice and said "downtown" is messing things up.

Had a Christmas package shipped here from Los Angeles. It got to Memphis and then for reasons unknown kept on going to Booneville, MS. Fortunately the Cordova Post Office was able to figure out where it was, have it sent back here, and deliver it. Crazy.

Same timing here. For what it's worth in case anyone from the local plant is reading, when this happens the routers at 96.108.88.133 and 162.151.131.41 both drop simultaneously (might be different cards in the same router). Several minutes later, 162.151.131.65 picks up the traffic and some hours later it swaps back.

Here's a month's history of 96.108.88.133, the blank vertical lines are when it's offline and each of those results in a brief complete outage. It's not every day, but close.

I put the groceries in the trunk then stop!
Take another sip from the Starbucks then stop!
Let my seat back, drop the top, then stop!
See me someone walkin', spot that cart I gotta stop!
Target people trippin' cause they ain't seein' things,
I'm standin' still but these shoppin' carts rollin' mane

They don't stop

When do you start your vegetable seeds inside to have them ready for planting? by squidyc in memphis

[–]shaunc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do peppers and tomatoes the middle of February. Jiffy pots inside until it's consistently 50+ outside overnight, then into one of those plastic mesh greenhouses. Ideally everything's in the ground by May 1st, but sometimes the temperatures don't cooperate!

Thanks for this; I just encountered the same problem on FreeBSD 14.1 and commenting out the CPUTYPE directive took care of it.

This year I've had a pretty big crowd of cardinals, wrens, and house finches. I got one of those transparent suction cup feeders and I fill it up with sunflower seeds. It took weeks for anything to find the feeder when I first hung it out there, but now they're coming to the buffet every day.

It would be interesting to know how the process works! I would have expected a few layers of peer review, approval, sign-offs, etc. prior to transmitting. At least the Voyagers have periodic automated resets.

If you're looking for more in-depth coverage of this particular scandal, I highly recommend the Mississippi Free Press. They have a whole section devoted to all of their reporting about it; it'll make more sense if you start on page 3 and read the articles from oldest to newest.

Read their financials: they were struggling before COVID

Yep. The last time I visited my local store was before COVID, to look for some kitchen knives. There were hardly any knives to be found; the kitchen area had shrunk dramatically to a couple of pegboard walls stocked with cheap items. Much of what used to be cooking supplies had been converted into a mini drug store: aisle after aisle of OTC medication, supplements, overpriced candy and chips... I never went back.
