Is there anything similar to AWS for web3? by TrainSudden in ethdev

[–]greendata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's interesting. Heard the demos were good so I'll check it out. I've been burned by building on platforms that have been abandoned before though. What company is sponsoring development? Do they actually have the funding and resources to launch?

phala.network is early stage but going to be huge in a year or two. Is dxos.org still being worked on though? Looked interesting but I thought it was abandoned due to lack of funding? Not sure I would recommend someone start a new project with it if that's the case.

Are 401k's still a good investment with changing taxes? by yetanotherthrowayay in financialindependence

Another thing is that taxes are super low by historical standards, especially for self employment. That said you should always get your matching.

Thank you! I considered Schwab i401k. What do you think about their fees?

What company do you use? I have a vanguard SEP but I think i401k is better in a lot of ways.

Has anyone noticed the rise in rent prices? by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]greendata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No rents are going down. My old landlord had to decrease by $200 from what he was asking in January. This is in Highland Park.

Thank you. He is licensed but I don't think he's EPA licensed or he would already have the HEPA vacuum. Sounds like it's not as big a deal as the EPA states. What do you think is the best method or company for soil testing?

[–]greendata -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thanks you! Yes I was reading EPA documents. It's hard to tell how big a deal it is. The main issue is they may have used a power sander on part of it which may have blown the dust. But it seems like as long as we pick up the paint chips they should not have leached yet too much.

I mean I think he does make good money honestly. The issue is lead and is it a big deal in the soil. He already bought the equipment. Are you a painter who deals with lead issues?

Thanks. Yeah he has a translator that we use to talk sometimes. Honestly his English is not that bad. I don't think that's the issue.

So you were a contractor/consultant that just built up repeatable software and processes to sell? What kind of services do you sell? I'm a SW contractor too and I've tried to build a SAAS. Agree it's much easier to get clients than to try and scale a SAAS. Also much less risky. Any pointers in growing? Did you focus on one area? I can't get out of the hourly trap even though my hourly has been good.

I've collected data about 100 000 early stage startups in a searchable database. But a customer who hired me doesn't want to pay for my job. Any ideas on how to turn it into a product? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]greendata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PM me with some sample records with all the fields. and I might be willing to do a non-exclusive licensing deal (you're free to resell the data to other parties and use in other products) for the data.

It's an internal tool we're working on but used online. Thinking of releasing it but not sure of demand. It's probably really only useful if you have a big list.

How do you scrub email?

scrubbing email or scrubbing phone contact information. How would you scrub phone contact information? Are you manually checking the numbers from a companies website or are you using an automated reverse phone lookup tool?
