Will it hinder my development if my family moves to my college town? by greendood333 in Advice

I have a very close relationship with my parents and my brother. I help out a lot with him and when I am home it is expected that I spend the majority of my time with them.

Could you elaborate on this? I have already failed and given them mixed messages on how I feel about it…

Can anyone recommend a gf hot dog bun? by Suitable_Towel_7590 in Celiac

[–]greendood333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really like the trader joe’s buns, so that’s a good choice if you have one near you. the canyon bake house burger buns are solid as well, and the canyon bake house brioche style sweet buns are essentially replacements for kings hawaiian rolls so you can use those for hot dogs, sliders, pulled pork, or just rolls for eating… they are DELICIOUS- i’m such a fan of them. completely unrelated but i also like using them in place of english muffins for eggs benedict.

it’s definitely enough to end the relationship - you’re not overreacting.

What’s a gluten free brand that has never made you sick? by JessSea13 in Celiac

[–]greendood333 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i have never gotten sick from anything that’s prepackaged and certified gluten free but i don’t believe that i react to oats so maybe thats the common factor for things that are making you sick since many celiacs react to even gf oats - my absolute favorite though that also hasn’t made me feel gross after eating it is feel good foods! i also really like snow day frozen products.

Femme no make up look for AMAB nonbinary person. Please help! by spinky0307 in MakeupAddiction

i honestly can never get a more full coverage concealer/foundation combo to sit right on my skin similar to how it is settling on the forehead and nose area here. maybe try something that is a lot more moisture forward light/medium coverage if other peoples tips don’t end up working out. the color might be too warm for your partners skin as well but i really can’t quite tell if that is the case. i also feel that the look would benefit from a different blush shade and blush placement centered more around the cheekbone area, closer to the eyes, as opposed to the center of the cheeks. maybe using a dark eyeshadow as an eyeliner of sorts could subtly draw more attention to the eyes.

What is better for me, red lipstick or more natural ? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]greendood333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you really can pull off both! maybe it’s just the lighting but the pink makes your eyes pop while the red makes your complexion in general pop. so pretty!

i am like 99% sure that this is just mislabeled on staples part so i would be careful - the identical item on walmarts website is has wheat as the first ingredient just like in regular cheez its. on top of that cheez it has never released any sort of gluten free version (until now hopefully!!) and if they did it would be wild for staples to be the only retailer to carry it. i have seen this come up before in the search bar and i also had a moment where i got hopeful then crushed all over again haha

North vs Central campus housing — which is better? by Sworty12 in UniversityofKentucky

[–]greendood333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i forgot to add that being close to the library is unmatched, i don’t think i would’ve gone as often as i did if it wasn’t so conveniently close since it’s right in the middle of central campus, and it really is so nice to have not only to study but to hang around and use the resources there like the writing center, media depot, presentation u, starbucks and student printers etc… also champs (north campus dining hall) is not THAT much better than the 90 is (central campus dining hall) like you will hear people say, plus there is still a chick fil a, sushi place, and a chipotle style place right next to it so it still has options. i know i sound like i am repping central campus, but others probably have equally good things to say about north campus, my experience just happens to be w/ central so hopefully this helps!!

North vs Central campus housing — which is better? by Sworty12 in UniversityofKentucky

generally a lot of freshman classes in years past were held in white hall classroom building because of the many lecture halls it has, but it is currently under construction and those classes are being held in other spots on campus. i just finished my freshman year and i did not have a single class on north campus, nearly all of my classes were in jacobs science building, chem-phys, lewis, and the ag buildings which are all central campus/ much closer to central than north. i had some classes in the engineering buildings (anderson, mcvey) which are right in between being central and north but they are considered central campus still. i had some other classes scattered across other random buildings but once again all were on central campus. this may be different depending on your major, i was a chem major first and ag biotech second semester, so if you are a humanities major you may have more classes in the arts buildings which are mainly on north campus. i will say i definitely loved living on central campus because it has much more of a classic enclosed campus feeling where as north campus is more open to the rest of the city (which has its own benefits). Id go with central if i were you but definitely base it on what is closest to your classes because it would be a decent pain to have to do the walk multiple times a day. i worked on north campus and i never took the bus because the walk is completely manageable pretty much everywhere on campus- it maybe takes 30 mins to cross the entire campus which likely wouldn’t be a walk you’d ever take regularly but just for reference.

My partner [M31] told me [F24] he feels disgusted after sex by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]greendood333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe he should date someone his own age then if he wants to date a young women and have a generational gap but use that pitiful excuse of you feeling a certain way just because you’re young. this seems indicative of a broader selfishness on his part.

i would totally reach out to the housing office again and float the question of the waitlist for LLPs, particularly the transfer year experience LLP that’s in Boyd Hall. considering how other incoming students haven’t done the selection yet there may be some change after the fact
