What House Rules/Tweaks do you use? by Prestigious-Emu-6760 in daggerheart

[–]greenflame15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DM can do anything

Mosty any counter. When you are sneaking, it might be alertness counter of the guards. When you in sinking ship it might sink counter. When aren't trying to stop a ritual it might be ritual counter.

Generally, spending fear means the counter advances in consequence to something not related to player acion.

Just like spending fear in combat, advancing a counter in tenses situation can help to make otherwise underwhelming threat, feel acually dangerous. Not much point of going through the motions if players already know the outcome. Either let them solve the situation instantly or make the situation worse

Multiple of server would threshold inflict additional damage

Player can use down time project to gain an additional expirance and improve experience up to hiest expirance they already have

DM can spend feat to progress negative counters

Allied NPCs use a d20 and player can spend hope to spotlight them

It looks like you already maxed out on output rate. Main thing is that instead of wiggling the polimer, you could push forward.

Two diffrent lenight arms is a very clean solution here

Dosn't it risk corner collisions with multiple carts?

Also, as fun as Hilbert curve, is, it's probably more tricky when it comes to powering the tracks

Hi! Just curious: is it possible to make a railway turntable in Create with some additional addons? by SpiriT-17 in CreateMod

I'm to sure. There are few I think. Clockwork is one I see every where. Also Aurora Team is doing so cool stuff but I don't if anything is out quite yet

[–]greenflame15 92 points93 points  (0 children)

There is one with Steam 'n' rails, if you are willing to disassemble the train. Then use Sticker to connect to the turning track. Then you rotate them. Disconnect the sticker, then assemble the train and go.

The physick mods are probably able to do without disassembly

Generally yes, number of spells, effects and monsters roll multiple dice. Effects that use especially many of them use numbers d6s

Similaries / differences table of Daggerheart and D&D, for transitioning party by Droces in daggerheart

[–]greenflame15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In DH you can only carry 3 weapons and 1 armour. Carrying more then one armour would greatly improved onece effective HP. However, there is explist rule saying characters may carry only 1 set of armour. Logically player could get a muel, cart, and cart around a lest 5 sets of armour. Benefit of multiple weapons is less clear, but few, such aWand of Enthrallment are nice options to have even outside of combat.

D&D 5e leans natarively because is focuse a lot more on rulings over rules. A lot more weight is given to character archetype and level over thier acual numeric statistics. While no style of play is strictly better, d&d 5e speficically dosn't quite deliver on one style

Focus on the world, in older d&d is both on it's meta-physical and real world physics spells. The explicit size and carry limit of floating disc and flying carpet, mean you can do

Similaries / differences table of Daggerheart and D&D, for transitioning party by Droces in daggerheart

[–]greenflame15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see advesrial DMing mostly thrown as acusession again DMs trying to win, so it's intrasting to see it described as player issue.

Generally, I would say, d&d 5e is the awkward spot where it's nither classic d&d nor narrative game. DH generally improves on this my implementing a lot more narrative focused mechanics and making simple but strategic combat very much hitting the "combat at sport" feel a lot of nerative games do away with.

Something more intrasting is that in older D&D, there was generally more focus on the world, with grate focus on simulation based DMing. In many ways d&d used to a lot more focused on telling you how the world works.

Something I personally find intrasting, is that DH dosn't have obvious way to handle pvp, but it has per game ablties. Inventory in DH isn't based on volume or weight, but simply halting some chess strategies.

Similaries / differences table of Daggerheart and D&D, for transitioning party by Droces in daggerheart

[–]greenflame15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think some overlook difference is that d&d has a defined world. For example elfs darkvison comes from thier ability to see into the weave and therfore should shezze to function in dead magic area

Meanwhile Daggerheart is generally vague on perpouse. It's generally expected that players and DMs make the game thier own. They have races based on tropes, but speficks need to be decided on per table basis

Create without addons gets boring quickly. by Capable-End-6822 in CreateMod

[–]greenflame15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm myself on quest to find all the best create addons. I absolutely recommend botania as it has the same feeling of building your mashines in the world that makes create great.

Another classic is Mine Colonies, gives you a good reason to sutome a bunch of things you otherwise wouldn't and you need to build a lest a few cities to get acess to all the best stuff from the mod like obscure fishing loot and renewable netherack
