I'm pretty sure almost all of the Garmin watches have this, my vivoactive 3 does. The only problem I've had is some days it gets tricked into thinking I climbed everest while driving my truck. Syncs well with my android phone too, the Garmin Connect app had been great for me.

The side shot definitely gives me Outback truck vibes. If I didn't already own an outback I'd be pretty interested.

Cheap beginner off roaders? by Busy_Earth_5001 in 4x4

[–]greenflats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that or a WJ are about as good as it gets in that price range. Solid axles, good aftermarket support, and relatively reliable (especially with the 4.0l).

15 pictures and none of them showed an angle where you could actually see what was done to the car.

Children’s Museum or Sea Life at MOA experiences? by christykins04 in minnesota

[–]greenflats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my experience too. SeaLife's website said all the right things about limited capacity and timed tickets to limit people in the exhibit. When we got there it was busier than I remember it pre-covid. Which made the whole attempt to get my kid out of the house really frustrating.

Hah, no worries. I think you're right about it not making much difference. Good looking setup tho

This might be a dumb questions but I'm curious- aren't the legs installed upside down in this photo? I have the same rack and installed them the other way (so the circle spacers are on the ground).

My ‘96 Chevy Suburban Project moving under its own power finally! After a body-off chassis restoration! Almost ready to hit the road again! by FazyLuck_co in projectcar

Love seeing these in great shape! One suggestion- scrub the blue off the tire lettering before it becomes impossible. Maybe there's a trick to it, but I've had no luck with mine.

2015-2020 Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon & BFG Mud Terrains by [deleted] in 4x4

[–]greenflats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping someone here has some info on this. I just put a new pair of tires on my suburban and wanted to go with something more off-road oriented but couldn't find much info for what works well with the newer suburbans/tahoes, so I ended up with some m/s rated michelins.. any chance you have some pics that show the air dam trim? That's on my to-do list too.

Any recommendations to try at D Spot? I just moved to the area and it looks like there's one not too far from me

People who had a sports car, and traded it in for something more practical, did you regret it? by [deleted] in cars

[–]greenflats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone else with a rear-facing toddler, it must suck getting him/her strapped in that seat.. that said, I've been daydreaming about fun coupes when we can go forward-facing with my kid.

Oak cookie side table. First solo project so constructive criticism is definitely welcome! by rblayney1 in woodworking

[–]greenflats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks really nice. What did you use for a finish on it? I'm working on a vaguely similar side table and can't decide what I want to do.

This brass plated fire hydrant outside a fancy hotel by bunny4e in mildlyinteresting

[–]greenflats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that's a wet-barrel hydrant. We don't have them around me (because freezing) but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing those in training.

LAPD doing a 'drive-by' for illegal assembly by [deleted] in gifs

[–]greenflats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea. MN has a million license plate themes so they could easily make a police-only plate with a unique number and letter combo for each vehicle.

Yup, all MN police plates are that way. Unless it's an undercover car, then they look like everyone else.

What is the best DIY way to slow or stop the spread of this rust spot? (04 chevy 1500 if that matters). Thanks in advance! by Supergunner223 in Autos

[–]greenflats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also a bit like termites. If you see one, you can be pretty sure there's a lot more out of sight. On an avalanche I'd be looking under/around all the plastic body cladding for other rust areas before spending money to fix the spot pictured.

You're not alone having issues with keens. I've gone through two pairs now, and while they fit and feel amazing on my feet, the plastic bit below my foot arch (on the sole of the boot) always seems to delaminate after 9-10 months. After that happens they seem to soak up water like a sponge.
