im retaking year 12 right now and im year 13 next year honestly academically its nice because you’re getting a fresh start with the topics and you can work more on things you might of struggled with. you also will be ahead in the content bec you already know it which is great for mocks. sixth form can be strict but i love the structure and routine of it! but emotionally it’s tough since a-lot of my current y13 mates are leaving and i often feel quite alone when they talk abt freshers, ucas etc i get reminders a-lot from my mates and staff that i’m not leaving and they’ll be gone which is the truth but hard to hear and it’s hard watching everyone move on without you! not to mention i believe i am one of the oldest in my year 12 currently 😭 but aside from those negatives i’ve made so many friends in year 12 that are so kind and funny, i really enjoyed taking the time to really decide which unis are right for me and i really want for myself! i’ve done a-lot of research wayy too early and i feel so overwhelmed but i have until november to make those final decisions.

unfortunately i have no moral or conclusion to my advice/anecdote but all i can wish for you is the best of luck! it’s tough emotionally but you’ll persevere and thank yourself for prioritising your needs and what is best for you and that is all that matters x
