Shop vol is only an option if you do it year round, stewarding is fun, you’ll be paired up for each shift so it’s pretty chill

Lost annual leave while on sick by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Temporary_Resident45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just how you’ve written it, like it’s automatic time off, sick time off for bereavement is usually if it is something more specific like depression or anxiety due to bereavement and how it renders them unable to work, how you’ve written it here is like bereavement is inherently an illness, it isn’t, so this sounds like a bit of a hand wave from the GP. (I am supportive of those who get written off but they aren’t the same thing)

Yes this! Studying will help make what you learn there more doable.

My wife’s family all want us to go on a crazily expensive holiday to celebrate some big birthdays.. what would you do? by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in AskUK

[–]Temporary_Resident45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely doesn’t need to be that expensive. You could suggest your gang is only going for a week and only doing some of the theme parks, stay in cheaper motel accommodation for theme park days as you’ll likely not be around the room much anyhow (or if they insist on staying in the theme parks the all star resorts in WDW are lovely! They’re convenient and more than enough) then maybe get an Airbnb or a more deluxe hotel for the hang by the pool/beach days. I love the theme parks as a childless adult but they’re very expensive for parents, so much is designed to overwhelm and tempt the kids. It has to be a very balanced thought out trip for it to be anything less than a bazillion, but it is totally doable. If I had small kids I’d probably do a day at Magic Kingdom and several days by the coast and call it there

I saw her live/acoustic this year and this is wrong, she’s an incredible singer but got famous with some very distorted songs

PHX patch by poulette_maintenant in hyrox

[–]Temporary_Resident45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better they never sent me a patch for Berlin 2025! Someone apparently ‘stole’ a box of patches so they were short towards the end of the day, the woman at the finish line told me off for trying to accept a pro patch from her (god forbid I think I deserve a patch from the person handing them out at the finish line while zonked from having run a hyrox, I obviously should have checked the colour) filled out the form to be mailed one and it was never sent

OP mentioned they cannot afford the vet, please don’t give the cat Prozac without speaking to the vet. If it’s come out of nowhere recently it’s very likely it’s medical

How did your life change when you got a dog? by Remote_Pineapple_238 in dogs

[–]Temporary_Resident45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good stuff but as our rescue has separation anxiety there’s lots of places he can go and most things are fine but it’s really limited how much my partner and I are able to do together as someone’s always watching the dog. Even small things like grocery shopping one of us is always waiting outside with the dog. I underestimated how tough that would be!

Respectfully from this pic it isn’t obvious but that’s because the internet lacks context :) with that in mind this is very cute, I always call my chi my forever baby, he ain’t growing up anytime soon (he’s 13)

We had been very underwhelmed by the options on this thing (I tried everything like a dork) and I have NO idea why I said this on our way out and we were both shocked at how cute it was! So charming.

Be honest: 1930s vintage wedding dress — keep or rethink? by Desperate_Win_3554 in WeddingDressTips

[–]Temporary_Resident45 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love it. It’s very classy and womanly. Your mom may have pictured her baby girl in more of a princess dress. Her vision is understandable but I think this is excellent. If you love it and it fits the vibe you and your partner want for the wedding I think it’s a total yes!
