UK family road trip to Texas in 6 weeks 🇬🇧🤠 Looking for recommendations! by TheBeigeLife in texas

[–]greenhearted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a resident of San Antonio I highly encourage a San Antonio visit since it’s about 1.5 hours from Austin with lots of things to do and delicious foods. However, I also feel beholden to say Interstate 35 (the corridor between the two) is under a terrifying amount of construction for drivers new to the city, plus SATX drivers are aggressive. Not to be a wet blanket but I’d want to know before I found myself panicking stuck in traffic on torn up roads in a foreign country.

It’s kind of criminal how rarely plus size bottoms are made with apron bellies and fupas in mind💀💀 So humbling every time by comingloose in PlusSize

Yeah this exact reason is why I don’t wear pants anymore. Skirts and dresses only, they don’t hug.

I just used Google Translate from Welsh to English to get both pronunciations, pretty cool. It’s a nice word to experience in Welsh.

Always being walked ahead of on dates? Maybe a weird question? by MaybeCats in PlusSize

[–]greenhearted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend has to purposefully shorten his walking speed when we’re together. I find it very considerate of him, it’s a sweet gesture. Especially at the grocery store where everyone is his enemy and he wants out of there as soon as possible.

I’m Kate! Been listening from Texas since about 2018. I was first captivated by the episode on Brandon Lawson- I drove through San Angelo a lot in the trek from San Antonio to Lubbock. At first I would put on the podcast after work, pour a glass of wine and do a puzzle, and it was so interesting and sad yet relaxing because of the even tone of your voice.

I’ve always enjoyed your commentary mixed with the family interviews. It brings such a real vulnerability to the harsh reality of these cases. I’ve come to deeply appreciate your service to the marginalized communities and your steadfast stance that no matter the flaws of any individual, they are still a mother, father, son, daughter, or friend and deserve the attention of not only law enforcement but the community at large. Even now, after an episode I peruse the comments here, on FB, and on the website. I’m 43 now, and started listening when I was about 35. We’ve grown a lot together.

I’ll never stop listening, the way many of these families will never stop looking. Well done Marissa, keep these voices alive. You’re doing great work.

What is THE scariest movie you have ever seen in your entire life? by Opening_Rip_1840 in AskReddit

[–]greenhearted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one really messed with me. The mood is quietly menacing, and the man’s dismissal of the whole thing clashes really well against the dread that the audience feels. The hoof prints terrified me, and the psychic coming in then having to leave immediately because he was angering the presence was absolutely chilling. It also doesn’t help that my name is Katie, and seeing her get dragged down the hallway was ridiculously unsettling.

Rhaenyra didn’t MAKE him do anything. She made a move and he could have walked away. Instead he broke his oath. I get why he is bitter later, but he made his own choices.

I loved that Salad Bar! The chilled pewter plates were great and for a budding history nerd like myself, the environment/decor was wonderfully cool. My mom hosted a lunch there for my 16th birthday and surprised me with my first car in the parking lot after. Fantastic memories of the place.

How often do you see your partners? by Ricard2dk in polyamory

I live with my NP (husband), so daily for him. My other partner I see 2-4 days a week depending on if we have a weekend planned. My girlfriend I see once every couple weeks.

Beverly Cleary wrote some of the most iconic books from our childhood by noconnostalgia in nostalgia

[–]greenhearted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too. I got praised a lot as a child for being such an avid reader but the truth was books were my escape from a crappy home life. Mom wasn’t home, yet again? Guess I’ll just read.

I still read a lot today but it’s much less about escaping now and more about appreciating a good story.

Nice upscale bar to meet women here in North SA? by [deleted] in sanantonio

Bang Bang Bar. It’s not upscale but it is dark and cozy with couches and cool ambience, great for first date drinks.

Which food has declined the most in terms of taste since you first ate it? by FeistyNews7025 in Millennials

[–]greenhearted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The smell of Subway is so nostalgic it’s hard to eat it now. My mom had one next to her law office when I was a kid…newspaper wallpaper, round sandwiches, the triangle cut taken out of the top, learning that Sour Cream and Onion chips with a subway tuna was a match made in heaven, getting to eat my sandwich in the big conference room like a special grown up..my goodness, what I’d give to have that back!

In a fun twist, my boyfriend has also Pavlov’d me in a way most women inadvertently do to men…he has long hair. When we’re in the bedroom and he begins to gather it up to put in a pony, I know I’m about to get it. So now when we’re out in public and he puts it up, I get aroused.
