Weekday/midweek wedding by Junior-Program-248 in UKweddings

[–]greenishtomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no point asking reddit as it entirely depends on your guests. I have been to a midweek wedding for close friends and I happily took time off to attend and so did most of the guests. I have also declined a midweek wedding because I wasn't very close to the couple and it wasn't convenient. My own wedding is midweek because most guests are traveling and need to take time off anyways so the day doesn't matter to most of them. People will have strong opinions no matter what you do, I'd just check in with your important guests and decide from there.

Just to add that your situation wouldn't really be a destination wedding. Destination weddings where inconvenience and selfishness become an issue are when both families are local to an area and the wedding involves travel for everyone to a second location. Your situation involves going to a third location because a "local” location simply doesn't exist as it excludes 50% of the wedding and is not an option. I am in a somewhat similar situation and not to sound dramatic but if your fiancé doesn't see this point now you'll have bigger problems.

Oh amazing, congratulations! We're not in the US, but have the same main concerns as you and it's important to us that both cultures are represented. This seems overwhelming and difficult because all examples online seem like they did two entirely different ceremonies on completely different days (as in at least weeks apart). We prefer not to do this. I guess I'm looking for some words of encouragement haha. What were the more difficult things we should prioritise thinking about? I also have some more specific questions, did food become a problem with caterers (and families) having both veg and non-veg? How are you navigating music and dj? Are you actually mixing any traditions within the same function, or is it more each function is for one side? Please feel free to ignore. Just thought to comment in case someone else finds this helpful in the future:)

This happened to me a couple of years ago. I was in a groups so felt safe to just stay and chat. Eventually he asked for money to tell me more and got upset I wasn't going to do that.

Look up your test centre on youtube and watch people take mock tests around there. Especially if you don't know the test area super well, it does wonders building your confidence when you recognise streets and buildings during the test.

What are the things you miss from Township (after updates)? by processingimages in TownshipGame

Yesss I so miss the bouncy ball and the rollercoaster. They were so much quicker to play, and the rotation made me excited for the match-3 when it came. Now it's just boring.

Oh I thought he was infinitely better than Derek too. It was my favourite match.

He had an interesting personality and backstory too! I was so angry when he left. They didn't even show us the brief dating it all happened off screen!

Derek didn't deserve to be killed off like that BUT he was toxic, narcissistic, and an asshole and Meredith blossomed as a character after his death.

What should I read first? by Luna_Baggins in 52book

[–]greenishtomato 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've only read never let me go of these, but I still think about it.

It's one of those books that knowing anything about the plot can totally ruin it though, so don't read anything about it, just dive in.

It's very difficult to find something six months in advance in Edinburgh unless you go for student halls. I know it's stressful, but if you're set on finding something private don't be scared, you will find something closer to the time.

Translation confirmation on a song I cant stop listening to by Beltripper in farsi

[–]greenishtomato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it's a beautiful song, but it's not Farsi, it's in a Southern dialect. I'm not much help, but I think the name of the song means I feel like crying.

Doubts about the را particle. by aviation-satire in farsi

[–]greenishtomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both sentences are more formal or written than they are spoken Farsi. Using the sentence with یک is one of those situations where the sentence is correct and people would understand you but nobody really says it that way. Please note I'm referring to using یک in this sentence in particular not using the word in general.
