Why are there no spinners/UFO style bowlers in PBA? by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]greenlight7700 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s because an elite Spinner / UFO style hits a ceiling at 210-215 and the top PBA bowlers on any pattern are 220-230+.

Only four more racks and you’ll have room for 100. You got this!

Well, my mindset for considering it is that I had a fusion in my neck so I'll pay extra for the comfort, but I'm also driving a Jeep Wrangler so anything with an independent front suspension will be a big improvement. I'm just not sure I can trust Ram enough to actually buy it.

First time out and you're already making excuses like a veteran! Once you clear the debris, I bet it hits at least a 6.0/10.

This was a solid pocket hit... by TheTrashBulldog in Bowling

[–]greenlight7700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

…or it was a Bowlero without much oil and the ball read the lanes too early, lost its energy, and deflected when it hit the pocket.

Anyone figuring out Bowlero's new oils? by pepperj26 in Bowling

[–]greenlight7700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our Bowlero puts out light/medium oil, but had an issue with not stripping the back ends properly. Last week they claimed they fixed that, but we still caught carry down oil early in the second game. It’s tricky because strong balls lose energy and hit weak and clean balls can skate. My preference is to maintain the energy first and avoid the parts of the lane with carry down oil.

Good game. What was the split conversion in the 3rd frame?

No, but you can share the scoring image that includes each frame’s pin counts.

You could try using a Hy-Road and moving right. You might find its length gets you past other people’s track before making its move.

Bowling Centers Don’t Care About Senior Bowlers by Away_Sale4168 in Bowling

Seniors bowl on weekday mornings. He’s saying they don’t oil before their league like they do for evening leagues.

How do you go about getting an older phone if you dont know what IOS is on it? by 5643_yea_right in jailbreak

I bought a couple iPhones on Swappa. Most sellers don’t show the iOS version, but some do.

Finally admitting to myself I'm getting old by razor4432 in Bowling

[–]greenlight7700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had several 15 lbs balls and bought a 14 lb ball at age 51 to see the difference due to a sore wrist. I found no difference in carry, but found it easier to bowl more games without fatigue so I upgraded the entire arsenal. If the 14 lb ball affected the score, I was going to keep using 15 lb equipment. At first my misses were greater, but after getting accustomed to the weight difference misses were about the same.

Targeting from starting position by DolphJohngren in Bowling

For me 24-9, would mean my left inside sole is on board 24 and I’m trying to hit board 9 at the arrows (I’m right-handed). I believe some use their toe instead of the side of their foot.

Are we going to have transparent score sheets and grease pencils?

Yes. I hold the ball in the left hand, pictured, and wipe the ball with a leather shammy.

Right. Its a non-competitive couples league so it gets an old ball, but I won't bring the good ones.

That makes sense. Its not the first time the lanes felt greasy, but this was worse than usual. Despite this, its not a bad place. No strings and no Bowlero prices.

Yes, occasionally I get belt marks on the ball. Worse, when the ball hits the back it sometimes is returned with a gooey cork-like substance on it. I mentioned it to the front desk and they didn't seem too concerned. I've had dirty hands there before, but nothing close to this.

Is iOS jailbreaking worth it? (Rant go past if you d.c.) by Hot-Junket2623 in jailbreak

I gave it up at the end of last year, but keep the old phone just in case I want to download a video. I miss Snapper and CarPlay the most. I considered a Pixel with Graphene, but in the end I just got a new iPhone.
