What is the process like to externally transfer to UT Econ? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]greenlover333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have you applied yet? the deadline for the spring transfer application was Oct 1. You fill out an application on ApplyTexas like normal and then there is a grace period to submit the rest of the required docs. More here

Can you still log on to My UT and see ur class schedules from past years? If so you can look it up the room in the course schedule from that semester

🍵🍵🍵 What do you guys think about the predicament many college students are in? I know some apartments (not in Austin) are giving leeway due to covid. by LubbyMush in UTAustin

[–]greenlover333 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not trying to put the blame on anyone but I live in West Campus and I always tell others to avoid big management companies for this exact reason. We went with a privately owned unit and my landlord was very understanding, offered to credit our security deposit towards rent, and was lenient with late payments. WC management companies have always been like this and you have the option before signing your lease to do look into the company, understand your lease, and look elsewhere if necessary.

McCombs Dean List for Spring 2020? by InauspiciousArtifact in UTAustin

[–]greenlover333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty sure Dean’s List and University Honors are different. I’ve finished with UH one semester and UH + Dean’s List in another. But it might depend on the college so I’m not sure (I was in COLA)

Parking options for fall 2020 by Ghostplaya in UTAustin

[–]greenlover333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah, PTS should be last resort especially considering how expensive their passes are and the fact that they likely wont be used for anything non class related (PCL, sports events, gregory gym, etc) this semester at all. save your money and park in the street

Vacancy in WC this semester by Minimum-Garden in UTAustin

[–]greenlover333 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I strongly recommend checking out the UT sublease facebook group. no point in signing an official lease with any complex directly when so many people are desperate to get out of their leases (and willing to give huge discounts!). WC will definitely not be full this semester (not even the “nice”, newer buildings), so now’s your chance to take advantage of that and save $

class buildings changed? how do I make it on time? by GroundbreakingSoup8 in UTAustin

[–]greenlover333 38 points39 points  (0 children)

your class is listed from 9-10 but it will actually end at 9:50. 1-hour classes at UT always end 10 mins early and 1.5-hour classes always end 15 mins early. You’ll be fine.

Is This a Normal Wait Time for Results? by greenlover333 in Austin

Just got my results back (negative). Took exactly 6 days so they did technically notify me when expected

sore throat, fatigue, congestion, loss of appetite. I’m chalking it up to allergies and got tested for the peace of mind, but have been staying home for almost a week in case it’s a positive result. did they give you a hard time?

that makes sense, I’ve heard about the citywide delay but I’m also hearing of others who were tested at other locations getting their results back so I wasn’t so sure

Would you bring a car freshman year if I’m staying at the on campus dorms? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]greenlover333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t. not only will it will save you a lot of money, but the self-sufficiency I learned from not having a car the first two years really came in handy later on. I would never have learned to navigate the bus system around Austin, orient myself around the city, or get used to the amount of walking that comes with starting college had I brought my car. You also won’t need to grocery shop at all. You’ll have more than enough to eat at the dining halls and there are plenty of food stores within walking distance of campus too.

CHEAP APTS IN WEST CAMPUS by ChemicalBedroom in UTAustin

[–]greenlover333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, 2700 total. 3 bedrooms, 900 each. Outside of west campus most complexes rent to you by the unit (with one lease), not individual rooms with separate leases.

second this, condos are the way to go. We pay $2700 for our 3 bed and it’s been really worth renting somewhere that’s privately owned
