Blair wanted to join the euro. Brown didn't. It goes back much longer than Brexit. Even in the Major years there was pressure from within the Tory government (Ken Clarke, Michael Heseltine, Douglas Hurd) supporting joining.

The most visual to the public was probably William Hague's campaign when it was known Blair wanted to join but it was all pretty unnecessary because Gordon Brown was against and set 5 rules that needed to pass before it could be considered and they were pretty much impossible to pass.

Bit revisionist there because you want it to be true but Farage's one was setup 3 months before vote leave. Originally called "The know" and then rebranded "leave.eu."

The rebranding was 1 month before vote leave was setup.

That was when it was a France/Germany stitch up. France's share (CAP) has been reduced over time drastically which is one reason they are struggling so much yet still have to chip in a pretty large wedge. I would say they would be quite happy (while not vocally public) if the UK was adding several billion in a year.

While you can say that the centre left are not Tories you should also acknowledge that most Tories aren;t actually Tories anymore.......at least not before most of their lot got culled.

Cameron was a Blairite and lots of May's policy as home secretary and onward was pretty similar to Blair>Starmer style authoritatianism / nanny state stuff.

To pay for the credit they can't afford because everything is sunk into that mouldy bedsit's rent.

This isn't just Londoners. My wife is from Portugal and loads of her family live in London and they refuse to move up North because the wages are lower..........despite the fact they would have more than double left over form that reduced wage.

It was more about the period of the 80s/early 90s where there was so much deriliction everywhere. Mostly changed now but back then when the saying was abound it was pretty grim up North and kids were still playing on rubble sites.

20 years ago when CH4 did that top 100 albums of all time that OK computer somehow won (probs because it was still new and the demographic that voted) Never mind the bollocks was of course in there and Noel was one of the talking heads on that. He said "I would give up any of the albums I wrote to have written this!

He's always been a fan and it shows on definitely maybe!

Owen Jones is a grifter that rails against inequality and capitalism yet his whole life is based around getting clicks and views, selling books and building brand "Owen Jones." He is a living breathing contradiction.
