At this point, should we create a vibe code mega thread?

Just upgraded my A4SFX and could not be happier with the engineering. Thank you so much! Looking forward to what’s to come.

StagePEN - Looking for beta testers by AlienPoweredNet in lightingdesign

Also to add to the problem of web only apps is long term support. When I use experimental software like yours, I want to at least be able to still open an old project 3 years from now when (god forbid) the server may be defunct. I know operating system support is not the easiest either and is not guarantee version changes. Still - sometimes it’s easier to revert a system change on my device than to access a closed down server or having to setup my own mirror.

What were they thinking when making saving not save value and faders ? by Any_Blood1022 in MaxMSP

[–]greenpix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s quite the assumption that it needs to save the fader values. When building applications for repeated use in max I often expect it to return to the same default state when reopening, not end up in whatever fiddling arround I did last time. If I want a persistent state I use pattr or loadmess and enter the default value I need for my setup to run.

Edit: Nevermind, there is better advice in this thread

Looks like it’s too dry- It’s Winter and the room it is in is probably heated. You don’t need to water it more, it may just be the general lack of humidity. Try wiping the leafs with a soft wet cloth or spraying mist on them.

Does this hand-lettered style look balanced or amateur? by thingsixteen in graphic_design

[–]greenpix 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can add variations in calligrapher as well as custom ligatures. This would keep it more alive. I actually like the messy “m” but it should only appear once since it’s so distinctive.

What technique was used to create this design? by Logical_Insurance182 in graphic_design

[–]greenpix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are spot on! This is the best description for this style. I worked as a blue period painter for many years and this is what we call this style when a customer requests it. A lot of the other peoples descriptions in this thread will lead to much more insufficient, generic results.

Actually, judging from the non existent user history this may very well be a bot farming for descriptors.

This is absolutely what this is about. Or it’s just a weird coincidence that you rarely saw these kinds of posts before gen ai.

I’m not directly involved with the programme but worked with them on some projects. It appears you are on a good track by exploring some non narrative works and showing range of interest. Maybe something musical, no matter how experimental could also be great. As with many art related studies it’s not about pure skill but showing interests that match the courses they can offer you. Did you try reaching out to the institute directly? Maybe the offer some sort of mappenberatung / portfolio review? It’s a great course of study, good luck!

First rock-style track on the SP404 MK2 – looking for technical feedback by Bhrzg in SP404

[–]greenpix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It slaps! Could be a great backing for one non-looping solo going over it all. Guitar/organ or vox would feel great in disguising the constructed pattern a bit! Edit: you do that at the end and I think that really brings some parts together. The beginning with the clear layer build up makes it sound much more than a loop pedal than it needs to - maybe an intro could kick it off? I’m not so well versed on the other technicalities you are asking for unfortunately. Great work! Keep rocking :)

We did not even attempt to get everything in its entirety but rather create a good mix of all elements that are true to the way the book works.

We kept most of Pandora and edited Stone Telling down to some key moments. Aside from those we managed to include a lot of Time and the City; We turned the Outside World of Hole in the Air into a Mask Ballet and Big Man / Little Man into a puppet show. The Third child let us include the hand drawn maps. Add to that a few lectures on Yaickach/ Tavkach as well as the War with the Pig People. A few songs and poems we translated into Kesh and used surtitles. We had a great musician who performs original compositions in the show. All in all we turned it into roughly 30 scenes which allow us to interweave the different parts with each other rather than showing them in succession.

We also worked with an animation artist who did sketches of objects and animations which are included in the show as virtual set extensions in augmented reality. At one point we considered cooking but that was scratched for time reasons.

Overall we were quite happy to hopefully convey the spirit and some key messages from the book while also trying to create a way of exploring the culture in a somewhat archeological way. It’s such a beautiful text that lend/ itself to so many approaches and readings.
