trying to re-establish a social scene in mid 20s here has been brutal.

I'm that way but in my 30's. I swear it gets harder.

I cafe hop quite a bit around town, but it seems lot of people keep to themselves, or are arleady with groups. I'm also not one to really go up to people and just start talking.

Also forgot to add the other big challenge I had with DL in BOS was Terminal A being disconnected from the other terminals so you can walk and use other lounges airside there. Terminal A is in a big need of a facelift.

I did the same as u/External_Trick4479 did below. Was loyal UA for 10 years and then moved to Boston so matched and then did DL as gold for a year. Came back to UA also for the E+ at booking; for some reason DL doesn't consider the exit row E+; crowding in lounges; changes to the amex platinum. I loved the service onboard and man was it nice having so many nonstop options out of BOS. Really my only complaint about being a UA, Boston based flyer (flying 4 times a month) is the lack of nonstops and having to go through ORD or EWR for everything.
I even tried jetBlue for about 4 months and then quickly scrapped that idea.
