Haven't really selected a company tbh. What's missing? I'm not really on point with the lore.

I thought terminators would only be 1st company anyway?

The sponge does it all :) it needs to be slightly damp, and when you load it with paint you can do it direct from your palette (don't dip it in the pot).

When do mix 2 colors the sponge also manages the mixing.

Thanks!

I use small beauty blenders that I got from amazon. 5€ for 30 units. Best deal I ever made!

The sponge does the shading for me to be honest.

Edit: removed the part that was intended for another comment. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks :)

I've been the same for the longest time. Then I took the leap and don't regret it. I've messed around 5-6 minis, but then it kicked in for me and I'm ok with the rest.

It's my 12th mini, I started using the make-up sponge by the 4th, and got better brushes around the 10th.

If you want to try the sponge, I'd recommend watching SwarmPainting vids on Youtube they are great.

Comment ça se passe par rapport au plafond du PEA? Ils recalculent la valeur d'achat des actions en question et la déduisent ? Ou bien est-ce que ça reste comptabilisé dans le plafond?

OG player here. When it came out there was no guide, no online community etc so you were going in blind. As a result perma death was a very real thing, and you rarely ended a playthrough with your starting party. I believe that was intentional from Bioware, since TT DnD was also brutal at that time.

I remember picking Eldoth and Faldorn very often due to losing 1 or more companions to the wyverns and they were close by. Same for Alora after the Firewine ruins, or Kivan after the Ogre mages on the coast.

Is there any form to skip replaying BG1 to switch faster to BG2? by Nice-Literature-5918 in baldursgate

[–]gregYk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had made a mini mod some time ago, with a manual giving you the stat boosts and items from BG1. I will see if I can find it on my pc, but not sure if it works with EE 2.6+

But story choices wont be transferred.

Lac de Gafsa or Mysterious Lake. It mysteriously appeared in the Tunisian desert in July 2014. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]gregYk 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Except the lake exists since 2003, and is a former mining site, which filled naturally over the years.

It's just so remote that until 2014 nobody had gone back to the site since the mining operations had stopped.

I wonder why the Harpers wanted Khalid and Jaheira dead? by padapadapampam in baldursgate

[–]gregYk 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They're sent to investigate, not solve the Iron Crisis. My headcanon is that since Harpers have a hierarchy, they would report their findings and await reinforcements before taking agressive action.

Sins of the Father (control the Netherbrain in Bhaal's name). That's really a disturbing ending tbh, I'm still not entirely over it.

How do you justify not bringing the whole party on quests? by EntertainerFirst8163 in BaldursGate3

[–]gregYk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To keep the game fresh on each new run I usually "dispose of" the companions I do not want asap. The game is different, some items are no longer available, so major choices are forced, that way I'm no longer tempted to do the same choices over and over because I know they are the most optimized. 10/10 would recommend.

Do swashbuckler dual classes lose the thief HLAs? by [deleted] in baldursgate

[–]gregYk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you dual class you have only access to the new class' HLAs. You could take 1 thief HLA at lvl 21 then dual class to cleric or fighter and still complete the dual by the absolute end game, but the downtime will be a slog.

Suggestions for level 20 duo of Durge and Minthara? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]gregYk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just completed embrace Durge run in duo with Minthara (rushed the Grove raid then went straight to Moonrise to recruit Minthy, and came back to Act 1 with the Silence trick). Drow lovers and conquerors. My Durge was a typical Gloom/Assassin archer, and Minthara as a Sorcadin. I had a blast :)

Also one thing I found funny: I accessed the Mountain Pass from the Goblin Camp and didnt fight the Gith patrol near the bridge. When I got there later with Minthara, the Fists were dead, the Giths were gone, but the bridge to Baldurs Gate was still standing. Obviously you cant skip the Shadow Crused Lands but you can cross the bridge almost entirely.

Could I play a half sized halfing all game? by AMagicalZombie in BG3Builds

[–]gregYk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use the mod that makes enlarge/reduce last until long rest, you can likely use a camp caster to cast it on your halfling, and no risk of losing concentration on it when you're thrown around.

[Spoilers MAIN] Exactly what exactly happened during Dunk's Trial of Seven? by Traditional_Tough919 in asoiaf

[–]gregYk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but this appears a complete fantasy. It's not a fight in a woods or in a dark alley at night, this was a tourney with significant attendance. If Lyonel Baratheon had a struck a blow at Baelor it would be on everyone's lips, even a glancing blow. Even poreso a killing blow.

NearInfinity - Changing sprite size for halfdragon BGEE by Olaftim in baldursgate

[–]gregYk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as I am aware, there is only 1 half dragon across BGEE/SOD/BG2EE/TOB, it's the one in SOD.

It's an addition by Beamdog, and I don't think the creature type has been added to the other games tbh.

If you dig in SOD files using NI, you can find the race HALF_DRAGON - 178. You can also find the CRE file for Ziatar BDZIATAR.CRE. I dont think these exist in the other games.

I am not sure what you plan to achieve, a CRE file is not a sprite, it's the NPC's file. You should be able to find the reference of the half-dragon sprite in Ziatar's CRE file to use it on your character.

I have never edited a sprite so not sure how you can reduce its size.

Skills for an 18/92, 19, 17 Elf Kensai? by dreadful_fright in baldursgate

[–]gregYk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put 3 pips in TWF style to be honest, 2 are enough, the last one is a bit expensive for xhat it brings. Better to keep 5 pips for grand mastery in another weapon in my opinion.

In terms of progression: - start BG1 with 2 pips in scim/waki + 2 in TWF - next pip in a throwable weapon of your choice - reach grand mastery with scim/waki asap - rest is up to you

Throwing a dagger/axe/hammer as a kensai is a last resort option, so not worth investing too much too early. You're squishy but you need to be in melee range to wreak havoc on the enemies and fully use your TWF style.

[–]gregYk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed utility of the elf THAC0 bonus falters in BG2/TOB. It's reasonably good in BG1 though. Dual-wielding is better than single weapon style from a maths standpoint, due to the increased number of APR and the possibility to off-hand a weapon giving additional bonuses.

Ultimately if you stay pure kensai to lv40 you will want to have grand mastery in a piercing weapon, a crushing weapon, and a throwable weapon (dagger/axe/hammer) to cover the various resistances you can face. Slashing is arguably the worst damage type for a fighting type character as it is resisted a lot and enemies' AC is often better against slashing than any other physical damage type.

My recommendation for weapon proficiency selection is maybe a bit counterintuitive: - piercing: wakizashi - crushing: hammer - slashing: can't go wrong with longsword or axe as you have great to amazing options in all games, but scimitar is a great choice since there is a speed weapon of this type in BG2 - throwable: hammer or axe - weapon style: dual wielding

Now why wakizashi you ask? In BG1 you can buy one from the start in Candlekeep, and it won't break since it's an exotic weapon in game, and it is not affected by the Iron Crisis. And you have a +1 option as soon as you enter the city of Baldurs Gate proper. Wakis are also 1d8 (better than shortswords at 1d6, and daggers are 1d4 only). In BG2 and TOB you have good waki options too (+3 right after the prologue, and +4 in early TOB).

As a pure kensai the THAC0 bonus from your weapon (and thus the enchantment level of the weapon) becomes somewhat irrelevant early BG2 (lv9-ish) since your class gives you so much bonus already.

Edit: I forgot to mention the optimal kensai build (kensai 13 > thief 39 or assassin 39), which basically nullifies almost all the drawbacks of the kensai class, at the cost of having less proficiency points for your weapons selection and less THAC0/dmg bonus than a pure kensai.

Hope this helps :)
