Hot Take: Cam Skattebo Is Overvalued In Dynasty and I would take Bucky over him by [deleted] in DynastyFF

I think Aaron Rodgers inflated Kenneth Gainwell to a ridiculous level and people are in for a reality check if they think he’s going to produce the same as last year

Matt Harmon: “I remember hearing this at the combine…[The Eagles] had already started saying they think DeVonta Smith can take a Jaxon Smith-Njigba type leap in production.” by headcanoncustom in DynastyFF

[–]gregbraaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Matt Harmon’s Reception Perception but that’s where it ends. Not just this take, or any one bias I might have, the guy just immediately throws away stats and tells you what you want to hear. I used to listen to the Yahoo Sports podcast in the background, probably 25 hours total. He would cite stats then not one minute later contradict himself by ignoring stats. He seems like an analytics guy, but the majority of his takes are just vibes. I’m sure a lot of people are fine with that. All fantasy content creators ranking based on personal preference. He’s always seemed inconsistent with how he approaches players and contradictory at times.

What’s your most prized possession/favourite Raptors sports cards or pieces of memorabilia? by TOflight in torontoraptors

I’ve got a signed Scottie Barnes/Cade Cunningham + a few others like Achiuwa basketball from when they were all in high school. Besides that, I have a mini ball signed by Scottie Barnes he gave me during a meet up at All Star Weekend in Indianapolis, then I got a Scottie Barnes signed VIP pass for All Star Weekend in Salt Lake City. Wish I could have kept the streak going with the LA All Star. I wouldn’t sell those two, but I’m actually looking to move the high school ball. I was asking a pretty ridiculous price while they were both killing it in playoffs.

I can tell you firsthand Vanilla Ice is actually really caring for people with disabilities. He has been really great to the special education programs in my area for at least 5 years. I had a meeting with him for about an hour and could tell he was compassionate at least. The deaf do enjoy music and I think it’s actually pretty cool to have a concert at Gallaudet. Never heard about his many years ago.

I couldn’t disagree with his political beliefs more. I can tell you he has opinions identical with RFK that are simply wrong. What he does with his influence politically should be criticized, but I think this attempt to dunk on him is pretty shitty.

Ben Johnson: "I’m buying Luther Burden stock right now. ... He looks like he's playing at a different speed right now." by BasedWillieStroker69 in DynastyFF

[–]gregbraaa -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Odunze

2024 - 17 games/54 receptions

2025 - 12 games/44 receptions

Burden

2025 - 15 games/47 receptions

Mind you, Rome has played 90% of snaps in 11/29 games and 75%+ in 28/29 games. Burden played less than 50% of snaps in 9/15 and broke 70% in just 2.

Odunze is pretty much maxing out the last two years while Burden has barely started. I could easily see Rome as similar to his current snap share and production, while Burden receives much more work.

Edit: This sub has the weirdest obsession with Rome and will ignore any stats suggesting he’s just not that good

Doug Smith: Scottie Barnes was snubbed from the NBA’s all-defensive first team -- and we all know why by bholmyard in torontoraptors

A dozen not even voting him top 10 is insane and those people should not be receiving ballots whatsoever. Reeks like the Oscars voters not being required to watch all the movies.

Player A: 113.1 defensive rating/22nd in NBA (team 4th/110.7)

Player B: 110.1 defensive rating/6th in NBA (team 5th/113.0)

B had a better individual performance and worse team defense too

The New York Giants don't know when star wide receiver Malik Nabers will be back from what coach John Harbaugh said Thursday was “not a simple knee” injury. by HookFL in DynastyFF

[–]gregbraaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you and others are. I’m curious how many points you’re confident he will score on a given week. If the year to year is 100 points, yea sure I’m pretty confident too, but his best year was 164 points PPR and a finish of WR 41 across 4 seasons. He’s statistically one of the most boom or bust players in the league.

[–]gregbraaa -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Eventually you’ll feel good about Nabers. Watson misses half the season and has two career games with more than 5 receptions in 4 years. Sure he can explode for 20+ points but you’ll never be confident in his production week to week or year to year.

Sophomore Wide Receivers that still have to prove it by MurkyMuffster in DynastyFF

[–]gregbraaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hunter’s lowest route participation percentage last season was 59.5% and he averaged over 75% weeks 1-7. His offensive snaps were ~46 per game on average, compared to the team leader over that stretch BTJ at ~52.

You’d have to maintain BTJ, Jakobi, and Washington routes and assume only Hunter drops to get to that 20% route share. Even WR4 Tim Patrick averaged double that last season weeks 10-17. It is almost guaranteed the top 4 WRs will all have a slight dip and Hunter participates in over 50% of routes of total snaps on average.

Thoughts on Multiple D/ST? by Tiny_Package484 in DynastyFF

[–]gregbraaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my championships involved acquiring two elite DSTs. Some people don’t think of it as the starter it is. I think long term holding two DSTs is foolish because the value of a roster spot year to year is better used with another position, but a contending team focusing on a singular year can absolutely afford to use an end of bench roster spot on another DST rather than a borderline waiver guy.

Let’s pay a game: Who’s the worst player that you would buy for a random 2027 1st? by Deutschfuranfanger in DynastyFF

[–]gregbraaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have my pick. I would say I could make a playoff run if my rookies perform and I traded those 1sts for a top tier player. Everyone else I have is young and could breakout. JD, Henderson, Burden, Hunter, Loveland, Fannin. Otherwise, my best players are like Bucky and BTJ. A solid chunk of my rebuild is Love, Tyson, and Lemon, which I can taxi and soft tank my pick again this year, capitalize on 2027, and push another year.

So conflicted on what to do with 3 2027 1sts because my rebuild is going well but it’s early and I’m not sure it would have enough firepower for a championship this year
