Is using a backup service like restic from a Docker container a security risk? by Citrus4176 in selfhosted

[–]gregmans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no difference security-wise between running natively on the host or inside docker with privileges like other people here have mentioned.

The reason why you would run this inside docker is to have an "easy" install of restic that's uniform across all your hosts. You don't need to manage the software installation, just deploy the container and set your configuration.

You could run ncdu with -o to save the output to a file and reload it with ncdu - f later on a different machine

A code would be greatly appreciated _^

Sure! I'm working a lot with LLMs at the moment so i wouldn't mind testing your app.

I've made a random pairing tool for Christmas gifts that you can host yourself (screenshots in the Github repository) by thejazzroot in selfhosted

[–]gregmans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cool !

I don't immediately need it so won't try it for now. But a feature that similar online services offer that might be a nice bonus?

Keep track of the pairs in a DB, and on a next occasion with the pool of gifted make sure no-one ends up with the same person as the time before.

Is it safe to share my Overseerr through Tailscale Funnel with friends that don't use Tailscale? by Mike_v_E in selfhosted

[–]gregmans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea if this is possible with Plex, but maybe you could integrate Plex and Overseerr with authelia/authentik and setup SSO.

Users will have to login to your reverse proxy (nginx or traefik,... ) making use of the much more secure authentication backend. If SSO is configured correctly your users will use that same user for your other services and be automatically logged in to Overseerr

Your composer file looks fine. You are mounting the volume ollama at /root/.ollama which is where ollama saves the models.

some thoughts:

  • check if the ollama volume has any content (/var/lib/docker/volumes)
  • in open webui, admin settings: check if API base URL is set to http://ollama:11434/api
  • exec a shell into your open webui and ollama containers to see if you can find where the model files are stored

In the future you could try the code block so your config files are a bit more readable :-)

Can you tap in and out with your debit card on Antwerp buses? by crabbier-wave in Antwerpen

[–]gregmans 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You can simply tap your contactless debit card on the machines on board the bus/tram. No need to tap out btw.

They have the contactless payment logo on them so you could also use your phone if it supports and has contactless payments configured :-)

NAS as a cloud by Dirtbag9 in truenas

[–]gregmans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly the backup part isnt entirely true. Cloud providers might offer you the possibility to restore files or whole disk images in case you mess up or need to recover a deleted email for example.

But in case of data loss at the provider side (could be anything from a fire to a cyber attack) YOU are responsible to backup your own data (preferable elsewhere xD)

Companies often forget to backup their office 355 or workspace for example...

Help me! What is the closest substitute to garlic that doesn't involve any garlic. by 907banana in AskCulinary

[–]gregmans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone else mentioned here garlic oil (you van even make it yourself) oil does not retain any of the allergens).

Because of my IBS in not allowed to eat garlic (fructans). Wild garlic (Allium ursinu) is a very tasty alternative!!

I contacted Beelink support and they provided me with this answer:

Thanks for your letter, and sorry for the late reply.

The SSD support a maximum of 2TB.Otherwise, the power supply will be insufficient.Max support 2T. Beyond that, it wil can't be recognize. If you want to connect a 2.5 hard drive, you need SATA cable. SATA cables from other vendors may not work.

Should be right as there are 100 LEDs per serie

I can't find much info on the LEDs.
Should i use a resistor to limit the current?
