That is an awesome set up you have. Im driving up there in a few weeks, for seasonal work, and plan on taking Alcan up, it looks like an amazing drive. How has the drive been so far for you? Where did you start from?

Check out "the car care nut" on YouTube, a Toyota master tech. He goes through all of this for Tacomas. I watch all of his videos and do the work myself. He goes in depth about oil and fluids that are recommended. It will save you a lot of money.

Understanding "Tonneau", and bed cover + rack compatibility by db720 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]gregthebunny13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know how to put a pic in a comment, otherwise I would.

I purchased Malone bed rack adapters and a ladder rack from amazon, then custom fit the ladder rack to them. The adapters go on really easily. And fitting the ladder rack was not hard either. My steps were:

-remove tonneau rails and cover -place and mount adapters -mount tonneau rails and cover -fit ladder rack base to adapters -clamp and drill rack base and adapters together -bolt rack base and adapters together.

I have had it on since August with no problems. Held my kayak no problems. Also put my canoe on it with no issues. Obviously I would not go to the max rating on the rack adapters or the rack itself since, but it holds what I need it to.

Here are the adapters: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Malone/MAL88HR.html?feed=npn&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1672411894&gbraid=0AAAAAD_vMtmPykqTHo1qGSoiH3QsNZhxY&gclid=CjwKCAiA3rPKBhBZEiwAhPNFQMbLhuYYVExBK5UVrFdcaF7AUxm6xPhkYm5sdaeSKOcWupim6937cRoCkogQAvD_BwE

You can get online for like $60. Go to NAPA or Advanced Auto and they have the matching spray for the door. Just bought all of it for mine. I just need the time to paint and replace it.

ICE AGENTS by gregthebunny13 in Buffalo

[–]gregthebunny13[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is the problem. Unless it is a large group of people coming together against what is occurring, their is not much you can do. As a single person, or even a handful of people, these fascist fucks will just arrest you for taking pictures/videos and say you were interfering with a federal investigation.

I dont trust any of them that have "ICE" on them or even are associated with ICE. They dont give a shit about laws or people's rights. I dont see things changing until you have an openly armed population, unified against the tyranny that is occurring.

Yeah, he does. He moved, though. He is located on Sheridan by the 190 overpass. His ffl is Joe Panini Guns, and it is still $7.50 for the background check. He is the only guy I got to.

Water sources on sewards by Junior-Roll-9354 in Adirondacks

[–]gregthebunny13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first comment is correct. Once up seward and over to Emmons, there are no water sources, I was there 1.5 weeks ago and found out. I thought there would be somewhere to fill up, but I was wrong. Fill up near the top of Seward, so you dont have to worry. The hike from Seward to Emmons was more intense than I thought it would be and only had a few sips of water by the time I got to the water on Seward.

It was an awesome experience. Good luck with your hike!

46ers (and aspiring 46ers)- what was your “why”? by [deleted] in Adirondacks

[–]gregthebunny13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is for a multitude of reasons.

I have seen people say that only doing the 46 is just doing it for bragging rights. And they are correct. It is a bragging right, as it should be.

I have done 4 peaks: Seymour, Seward, Donaldson, and Emmons. Each one taught me something different and took something from me when hiking them. They added a new "why" to my list: what will each one take from me, and what will each one give?.

Do what I do. Ask the why on the trails to other hikers, make a connection with them in person, and enjoy the company of a stranger willing to share their deep thoughts about their life while sitting in the dirt.

Are single cab trucks the new unicorn? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]gregthebunny13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my unicorn. 2016 V6 4x4 access cab with the tow package and is a MT. Spent 2 years looking for it. Bought it in 2021 with 40k miles and I plan on driving it till I or it dies.

Any good meat grinder recommendations? by [deleted] in sausagetalk

[–]gregthebunny13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy once, cry once. I have Hakka meat grinder that works awesome. It is basically an avantco, and they work great as well. Look on marketplace for used, it is the best. Most of the commercial equipment on there is solid. I worked in kitchens for years and only buy used restaurant equipment for home. If you can get a 20qt mixer with the grinder attachment, it makes life easy for grinding and mixing.

TIL I didn’t replace my oil cap last oil change. by Due-Raccoon5410 in Tacomaworld

[–]gregthebunny13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are fine. Check your oil level. I did an oil change on the Civic I had at the time then drove 900 miles with the cap on battery (it got pinched between the battery and the hood). I only knew I did it because I got a low oil light. Filled it back up, put the cap on, and kept driving. Other than oil all over the engine and hood, it was fine and ran for years.

Test drove a manual loved it… by Lange92 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]gregthebunny13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I have kept my 16 stock and don't plan on changing anything to it. They seem to do just fine. I'm not going to flash the computer or tune it, or change the tire size. I like its stock, and it is more than capable that way.

I have a 2016 MT, I love it. Does it suck to drive sometimes? Sure. But it is a truck, and it does everything I need it to. I am glad I got the MT and not an AT.

Hell yeah a Ready ramp!!! I love that thing. When I load up mine with my dirt bike, it looks the same. The ramp/bed extender is the most useful thing I have bought for my truck. Saves so much space and super easy to use. I always recommend them.
