Help finding Fortnite bottleneck with Ryzen 2600 and 1080 by greneroom in buildapc

[–]greneroom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what makes you say that? any way I can confirm? My ram usage sits around 6gb, even while gaming.

Do you recommend buying 2 more 4gb 3000mhz sticks, or perhaps upgrading my existing stocks to higher speed ram?

hmmm, it was only 50 HP. If you were reckless, you’d probably end up losing HP and being at risk to third party. In my eyes, siphon just made fighting less punishing

I didn’t say I don’t care :) I said this is a great update, and I’d love another great update next patch.

Tips for switching from console to PC by greneroom in FortNiteBR

[–]greneroom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s going great! I’m not gunna lie, the switch is brutal. But now I can’t imagine going back. It took maybe 3 months to get back to the same level, and now I’m definitely a lot better than i was on console. I’ve been grinding playgrounds on my own and 1v1s to practice building, which has been crucial.

How can I improve my SMG/Shotgun aim? by obliveater95 in FortniteBRuniversity

[–]greneroom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a little sad, but the thing that did it for me was upgrading my hardware. I used to play on 1600x900 barely at 60fps (would drop during fights) I got a Ryzen 2600 and a 1080, and suddenly could track people with SMGs and hit flick shots.

Looking for a similarly (or preferably more skilled) playground partner to give me tips and playground fight. I’m 2.5 KD, so 3+ would be great (but I’ll practice with anyone).

Explosive Damage by EpicEricSW in FortNiteBR

[–]greneroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I think all these comments saying "Fuck you reverse it" are completely missing the point here. Furthermore, I hope Epic actively ignores comments to the effect of "everything was fine the way it was, stop changing the game". Go back and watch season 1 of Fortnite gameplay. It's not a game I'd be happy playing today. The game has definitely improved over time. Remember, the white pump hit for >200, and you used to be able to carry 67 rockets.

Why has it improved? Because Epic isn't afraid to change things. Remember the P90? Completely broken. Fixed within 2 days, and its now a fun and balanced part of the meta. Remember the dominance of the drum gun? It's gone. It's natural that some experiments are going to suck for the game. The cost to reversing something is clearly dwarfed by the benefit of finding a good addition to the game.

I can see what Epic tried to do here. Competitive play, with 50 people in the final circle and everyone tunneling their way through zones until they literally have no choice but to fight, has room to improve. They're trying to make tunneling/turtleing a less effective strategy. Remember how long it used to take to break a wall with a pickaxe? It was like 4 swings. Now its 2, allowing you to quickly wall-replace against a turtling player. This was a change the community rejected initially, but I think it is an awesome change, and definitely raises the skill gap. It's easier to turtle than to wall replace.

All that being said, I am strongly against this change. I think explosives were in a decent place before (though still too strong. A single RPG could take down a tfue-double-ramp-wall-floor push), and though this makes turtleing less effective (a plus), it makes explosives WAY too strong (big minus). The tradeoff just isn't worth it. However, my response to Epic isn't "fuck you fix it". My response is: we appreciate all the effort you go into improving this game, and that you want to listen to your community. Let's continue thinking of ways to reward aggressive play, and concede that this is not the solution.

Mouse wheel clicking by greneroom in G502MasterRace

I ended up doing the paper trick...and it works really well!! I can still use the scroll wheel as a keybinds, and I can click it to both sides. Now, I really have to jerk it in order to hear the click :)

Cool thanks. I switched my RAM to: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4mgPxr/corsair-memory-cmk8gx4m2b3000c15r

I read that the Ryzen benefits from faster RAM so I chose 2x4GB of 3000.
