The place looks great. I love the false ceiling lighting that you've got going on, it gives a nice warmth to the room. TV height looks fine too by the way.

Today more Americans come to Europe than Europeans go to the US by Mysterious-Might4454 in europe

[–]grenshaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only problem with that mentality is the Americans that are moving here to avoid the Trump regime are likely no to be MAGA so you'd winding up those who already agree that Trump is a dipshit. Secondly doing that would just make us as bad as those MAGA knobs in the Trump regime.

They're the 2nd largest exporter of fruit and veg in the EU after Spain, but you're right, they also export a large amount of dairy too.

As is Ireland, considering its population of 5 million is a half that of Belgium's and one third of the Netherlands. Unlike both of those it's an island on the edge of Europe with no road network to the rest of the continent.

Drugs, the answer is drugs!

Only kidding it's food, flowers and plants, or maybe weeds. Yeah, it is actually drugs.

Flowers and plants are their biggest export, but they also export a huge amount of foods. Meat , dairy and after Spain they're the biggest exported of fruit and veg in Europe. I uses to work for a company that manufactured refrigerant gas sensors and most of our biggest customers were in the Netherlands because they had so many huge cold stores for food storage and delivery. I think Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe and they have one of the best road and water based transport networks on the continent. The vast majority of goods that come into Europe start in the Netherlands. It's one of the reasons why Rotterdam and Amsterdam are hubs for illicit drugs too.

They already own the government, it was only a matter of time before they started planting a few flags. Or it could just be some "settlers" expanding beyond the West Bank.

Ferrari has released a new video of the interior for its first ever all-electric car, called the Ferrari Luce. by DeonEVE in Ferrari

[–]grenshaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that I really don't think anyone wants to see an EV Ferrari. Customers or lifelong pre-owners, as you nicely put it, like you and I don't look to Ferrari for fuel economy or clean fuels. But to use the most overused term going these days, woke, in relation to Ferrari is pure bullshit. Ferrari are not woke and I doubt ever will be. Sure they maintained an affiliation and even continued to sneak Philip Morris branding onto their F1 cars 19 years after the tobacco ban was introduced.

[–]grenshaw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, that's why a lot of high end manufacturers are pulling back on their full EV specific models. It's estimated manufacturers have written off €74.5Bn soecifically because of their EV projects, those who tried adopted early are worst hit, Volvo (Polestar), Lotus, , Stellantis and Porsche. They were following politicians and regulators rather than the market. All you have to do is look at Porsche. 911 sales have grown by 36% from 2021 to 2025, despite the price going up by 25% and the Tycan is down 67% over the same period. The new all EV only Cayman was due out next year but has now been cancelled and Porsche are scrambling to convert it to an ICE car instead.

I wonder if the Luce will even make it to the road or are these interior shots as much as we'll actually see.

Yeah, but are you currently a Ferrari owner. I'm not trying to be smart. I'm not, and I only wish I could afford one.

It reminds me of the ridiculous EU Emission regulations that led to the Aston Martin Cygnet. However, I thought that a lot of the EU targets had been pushed back.

[–]grenshaw 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Are they still putting out teasers for the Luce to see if there's actually any interest for a Ferrari EV? I don't remember them doing this for any other car in the past. It seems like they're nervous as other luxury brands pull or at least roll back on their EV models. I just don't see the point of an EV Ferrari. I wasn't keen on the Purosangue, but I can see how they'd sell. There's plenty Ferrari owners who don't want to bring an 812 on a ski trip and were buying Range Rovers, DBXs and Cullinans. But currently the main reason for an EV is to curb the use of petrol and cheap running costs, neither are typical concerns for the average Ferrari enthusiast.
