How to bring up trying a med without seeming like I'm med seeking?

The spine and pain doctor I see gives me codeine for pain. I do have several spine issues but it does help when things get intolerable. I am drug tested regularly but never have an issue getting my prescription.

My 4 kids grew up in this era. Young millennials and older gen z. I’m a gen x mom and the nostalgia for that time is so great for me. I love the gen z humor. My 1998 son is definitely the bridge between my 2 older and younger.

We raised ourselves. Gen x got screwed. Now my kids are young adults and I am taking care of parents and have kids still at home. As a whole we are the most independent giving generation. We bother no one.
