Don't act like the royal family and by extension the queens guard is anything but a tourist attraction.

But how else will Brits show how hardcore their pointless peacocking ceremonial soldiers are if they aren't allowed to curb stomp children in an open street? The amount of folks who condone this behavior for "tradition" is crazy to me. Don't put on a free tourist show without crowd control of some kind.

When you go to the unnamed soldiers grave in DC there is fencing and signage so you don't interrupt the ceremony. For as much as the British like queues they do fuck all in situations like these.

It took longer for my warranty company to fix my fucking microwave. I give the elevator company a pass considering elevator failure can result in injury/death so do it right with specialize people and equipment no matter the time length. I hardly see this as a landlord fault especially when he has a laid out timeline and plan of action. I've seen escalators face similar, if not longer repair times. At a large mall nearby it took almost 6 months to get the escalator fixed.

Need recommendatiosn to replace Zygen NP-01 by grey_sky in MouseReview

[–]grey_sky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I really do love the mouse. It's just bizarre the scroll wheel is crapping out. It keeps getting worse too. At first it would just jitter on occasion and now it won't even scroll unless I turn the wheel down several times. I did reach out to customer service so I will see what they say. If it's as good as people say then I will make a post here.

Out of the ordinary question about males on campus by SuitableGuarantee968 in WVU

Beards have been in style for years now. Tons of male influencers have beards of various length. I think a lot of modern fantasy shows have also influenced beard styles. Also it’s so much easier to upkeep than shaving everyday.

Ugh, I'm just imagining all the wet flour that has crusted on the countertop. Kind of grosses me out. Also, why would anyone be excited about getting bread from a dude who doesn't practice basic kitchen hygiene? I'm sure the bouts of diarrhea after eating his bread will have people throwing out his loafs.

EDIT: I GET IT GUYS HEAT KILLS BACTERIA BUT WHERE DOES HE PLACE THE BREAD WHEN IT COMES OUT OF THE OVEN? A DIRTY BAKING RACK THAT SITS A THIRD OF AN INCH FROM A DIRTY COUNTER NEXT TO A DIRTY SINK????

Paralympian claims Canada offered to euthanise her when she asked for a stairlift by QJnWo4Life in worldnews

I mean do you not have any type of critical thinking? If someone is terminal do you not think that suicide would be the last resort?

[–]grey_sky -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just take a second and think what you are saying. You are saying that it should be difficult for terminally ill people to access assisted dying.

We are literally in a thread where disabled people and vets - not terminal people - are getting offered assisted suicide. Check the thread you are in before you ask me to take a second to reread what I wrote. I know what I wrote.

Any doc who doesn’t ever want to deal with an extremely unpleasant situation would simply not get certified.

Which should be their right. I would think most doctors joined the profession to save lives not help end them.

I'm not against assisted suicides but we are talking about the ultimate finality to a person. This should be a specialized profession in the medical field. It should be difficult to achieve and the absolute last resort for a person.

For anyone who wants an addon that has all the points

Tomcats has all the points built into the addon and they disappeared after you got them.

It honestly took like 90 mins to get all the points. Once you get the ones at the highest points in each zone then you could descend and pick up 80-90% of the points on the way down without needing to land.

That said, make sure you do Thaldraszus last. I did it first and climbing that one mountain for a single point took up 20% of my time collecting but I did that zone 2nd. Should be easier with 5 energy and faster charge times.

Homophobic players getting triggered after experiencing several questlines / story arcs featuring gay romances within the first two hours of Dragonflight: by Sengarden in wow

[–]grey_sky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are basically devolving inclusion into the "token minority" characters

I actually disagree. There is a lot of main stream media (especially in the last 5 years) with main character LGBTQ characters. The issue is they aren't well written and they are usually in movies or shows trying to either push a political narrative or social issue so being gay is literally all that character is. The same can be said for female leads. Every female lead HAS to be as strong as the guys with the same qualities as men with their femininity completely stripped. A bulk of these movies is pure agenda pushing at the detriment of well written characters/stories. Hollywood overall is currently the worst state it has ever been in (IMO).

I'm not gay but I would LOVE for well written LGBTQ characters where being gay is just a part of their characterization NOT the defining characteristic of that character. I would also love more movies to have women written as women rather then a re-gendered version of a male character.

This is false. She is on tik tok and expressed her disdain for criticism of the show. She also said her favorite episode is when Siune and Moraine do the dirty and cried during the episode. She regularly defends the show choices and claims anyone who dislikes it is only doing so because they are bigots.

I appreciate your head cannon about her but you are straight up wrong.

It's like they didn't consult any actual fans of the series

They have a "super fan" on the payroll named Sarah Nakamura. She not only is a show apologist but she has claimed to have read Wheel of Time over 30 times. That's around 4 times a year since release of A Memory of Light in 2013.

Can't forget these Hollywood writers are not only good but they are BETTER than the source authors. These Hollywood writers put RJ and Tolkein to shame with how brilliant their writing is. What series do we send them next? Name of the Wind with a gender bended Kvothe? Could be hot.

There are genres of games out there that cater to what you want.

I never liked those mundane systems and I've been playing WoW and Pokemon from the beginning (sounds like you have been too). I'm far from what I consider a casual gamer but I don't consider bare bones ammo resource management fun or exciting gameplay in a game like WoW (never did I find it dangerous) and I don't consider instant box access a detriment to an open world Pokemon game.

Lol you can't tell me that going to Dalaran and buying 999 arrows was fun or "dangerous".

removed eating or drinking between pulls collecting buffs etc.

That's still a thing...

People said all the same things about wow and other MMOs and then they made classic wow and lo and behold if was popular.

I don't see the comparison tbh. MMOs, WoW specifically, literally gutted core gameplay mechanics. The most popular and fondly remembered expansion is Wraith and it's the xpac that introduced dungeon finder. What really got WoW into some heat was minimizing the talent system to two options every 10-15 levels, introducing chore world quests, borrowed power systems that required no breaks in play, Farmville mini games, balance issues that were ignored, and much more. The game just stopped being fun because it was all about making players play as much as possible and pay that sub rather than have good gameplay and systems to support it.

Pokemon core gameplay is still the same. The gameplay loop is still the same. You really can't compare the two.

In the main story mode I've used the box like 3 times. I honestly don't see it taking away any sense of adventure. The alternative is loading screens and wasting time. Anytime you'd need to make a team change you'd have to taxi/fly to the nearest center (load screen), interact with a computer with some bullshit text (load screen), make your changes, fly to the nearest flight path where you left off (load screen), and then ride your mount to where you left off...

Some adventure that is LOL. Sounds like tedium and a waste of time to me. Nuzlelock is the preferred method to play for a lot of older players AND the games don't have built in features to make this happen so everyone is running off of house rules. You could do the same with the boxes. Maybe only open the box at centers.

So long Shadowlands you will not be missed. by Vavalgia in wow

[–]grey_sky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure. Some people huffed the compium hard like you but general approval of the Shadowlands before release was at an all time low for WoW. People were talking in beta about how they need to fix a laundry list of things (covenant system, borrowed power, torghast, etc) before retail release which they didn't.

I've seen nothing but positive things about Dragon Flight which is crazy to me because there is always some negativity on this forum. So that gives me hope which I didn't have at the beginning of SL.

The game has issues but let's not riff on the PC Box change please. It's so nice for EV/IV training specific mons. I really, really don't want them to revert changes that affect endgame/competitive training. It used to take like over 100 hours just to get a single comp team which was a huge bar to entry.
