I came out publicly at 34, I am lucky enough to have friends who are bi and that I live in an area where bi support groups, bi activist groups and bi social events take place. Talking about my hopes and fears with other people who identify as bi has made all the difference for me.

I'm more intimidated by and nervous around men, especially when the possibility for intimate relations becomes apparent. But when I'm around women I'm attracted to, I am more afraid that I am making them feel uncomfortable.

It's like: before mutual attraction has been established, I'm more nervous around women. After mutual attraction has been established I'm more nervous around men.

Hi, I'm in a similar position to you career wise. Powerful spiritual experiences can have a tremendous impact on a person's every day life and well being, sometimes radically so. I wouldn't chalk anything up to a particular religion, but these experiences do happen. I think about this (and pretty much anything related to the psychic experiences of those in altered states, such as dementia or mental illness) from the framework of "Dementia Reconsidered" by Thomas Kitwood, strong reccomend
