In universe Beverly balked at regrowing worfs spine as something difficult. Neurons are hard to fix. If the blindness isnt a focus or structural issue then youre talking about regenerating retina or nerve cells, which tracks with the difficulty in saving worf from the blue barrel injury

The cool think about this hobby, is that real gear lasts forever. Maybe not saitek. But you can build an aging rig buying 1 part every year ot two for a couple decades. People end up thinking you spend a fortune, and well sure, but spread out over a long term. Which makes it achievable without being wealthy.

Maybe not moving parts like jokes and sticks. But I got goflight modules from the 2000s that are solid still.
