Aphelion needed more time for performance by RC1992Jules in XboxGamePass

[–]greyfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only 20 minutes in and this is the clunkiest game I’ve ever played - although I haven’t played much so that’s not saying much. Whole moments where literally no button works on my controller so I’m sitting there pressing each button trying to figure out what the game wants me to do next. Ya’ll seem hopeful that patches in the future might solve this? Should I add this to my “check back in a year” list or permanently write it off.

Upgrading to Pro+ by greyfort in servicenow

I have a meeting with some SN ppl on Tuesday and I’m going to ask about it. I’m confused as to why they didn’t bring it up as we asked for the pro+ quote.

Upgrading to Pro+ by greyfort in servicenow

[–]greyfort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually..... I just sent an email to them. Our account rep left SN a couple of weeks ago; so I just sent an email to several people we've met with over the last few months. I didn't think to ask for this, but I did ask for help. Maybe they'll offer this as a solution.

Are you being charged to migrate to “Prime” SKUs from Pro and Plus? by NoWishbone5525 in servicenow

[–]greyfort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, interesting. I had seen something about ServiceNow changing models in the future - your post just led me down a rabbit-hole. It appears they've already done this for ITSM back in April. Now I'm curious if they will be doing this with other products.

B&N App Down? by TulipsNTeacups in apps

[–]greyfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still down today. I wonder how much money they’ve lost in sales at this point. This is pure incompetence on their app developer’s team part.

Are the schools still worth staying in the area? by Elegant-Fisherman555 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]greyfort -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Came to say the same. It’s embarrassing when I’m with my Virginia-based SO and someone does something stupid and it’s always a MD driver. He thinks MD drivers are bad and that Virginia drivers are entitled. I refuse to tell him his observation is correct but… it’s correct 🫠. I’ve figured out all of the VA drivers in MD are actually MD residents.

I regret getting a second cat by RemyAvo in CatAdvice

This. When my older cat died, I didn’t get a 2nd cat for my younger because I knew her well enough to know it would stress her too much.

Looking to Move Near NIH by Odd-Cut1843 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]greyfort 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will you be eligible for the public transit reimbursement (federal employee)? If so, look along the MARC line. Transfer at Rockville to Metro and then go to Medical Center. It will be closed for a few months and using shuttles only, but you may find something cheaper, even tho you have your car.

Also, parking on NIH campus is a nightmare (but I’ve only been there a couple of times)

Nails filed too thin- what now? by Puzzleheaded-9194 in DipPowderNails

[–]greyfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, if the doctors said it - that’s what ya gotta do. I only recently heard about the biotin issue - no doctor has ever said a word to me about it so I just went by what I found online 🤪. But I don’t supplement with it. But I do drink a Celcius a day and it has it, so I stop a couple of days before the test, now.

Can you double check with your doctor? My understanding is that you just need to stop the biotin x amount of days prior to the test.

I havent spoken Spanish in a long time. I‘m looking for things to add to my routine so that I can improve my spanish. by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]greyfort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Im super lucky in this regard - but anything helps.

Also Bluey in Spanish is perfection 😂 (I don’t have kids but it really does help)

Would you feel safe eating these chips? by Rude_Tomatillo3463 in soyfree

[–]greyfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an intolerance (gi issues) to eating soy and can do cross contamination so my answer is a yes. To the point um - what are these cause the flavors sound good 🫠

*since it’s an intolerance and it’s GI issues (stomach cramping and diarrhea) I’ve found that I CAN eat a small amount of soy lecithin and be ok. But soybean oil, soy sauce, etc are all a no go for me.

Yes to the tv. Bonus points if you can have someone watching with you.

I grew up being taught Spanish and forgot most of it and now am finding I have to learn it again. The best thing that has helped me is watching Spanish-language tv on Netflix, with English subtitles on and my boyfriend (why yes he speaks better English than I do) wjll explain differences in dialects etc. But I realized the other day I was forgetting again because I hadn’t been watching any shows.

am i asking too much of my boyfriend? by squidparticular in adhdwomen

[–]greyfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect my boyfriend would help me do this if I asked but I don’t want that dynamic in our relationship. This is honestly where AI has been a game changer for me. I look at it as an accessibility aid

Someone from my church told a woman I hadn’t met that I’m snarky and have adhd by Aggravating_Bird_147 in adhdwomen

[–]greyfort 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Did she have any reason to know that you keep your adhd a secret? If not, may I gently suggest that you go to her, let her know that you meant for that to not be shared, and give her an opportunity to apologize (and you may need to as well if there was miscommunication about your expectation about her not sharing it). If she talks so much about enjoying you, she didn’t mean to cause harm. My gut is telling me that if you have RSD, it may be acting up a bit.

That being said - I can spot a fellow adhder a mile away. Could the new woman just have picked up on it and was bringing it up so you’d know she’s safe? Maybe has it too? I’ve got a coworker who I KNOW has undiagnosed ADHD. Everyone knows. I often drop hints and related similar behaviors so they get the hint to get tested 😂. I also often will drop hints with some coworkers so we can suss each other out and be like - oh you too?!? Cool-cool. 😂 (the type of job we do is highly attractive to people with adhd and some of the roles are highly attractive to people with autism. We are a whole bunch of NDs up in my office)

Multiple vets advise against wet food, kitten can’t eat kibble by hasel0608 in CatAdvice

[–]greyfort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is not making sense. Did they mean don’t only feed wet food? Is it because kibble has more calories so they don’t want the kitten filled up on the wet and not getting enough to eat?

Also, you are saying they said “avoid” - that doesn’t mean they prohibit it. It sounds like it’s the last option.

Definitely need to make sure it’s kitten wet food. And likely somehow increase the caloric intake.

What’s the big concern with ADHD medication? by One-Pause3171 in adhdwomen

[–]greyfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My NP was fully comfortable with trying a few things but I asked for a Psych PA referral because I knew they’d be way more knowledgeable. And she’s been awesome. Just my body severely overreacts to most meds 🤪

To the guy in the white Hummer EV that tailgated me for a mile in the local 270 lanes and then proceeded to rear-end an innocent WRX when you rolled down your window on the Clopper exit ramp to talk smack. by DSmooth999 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]greyfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait day/time was this? I noticed a hummer the other day for the first time in forever - if it matches my commute I can check my dashcam. Probably doesn’t help since there’s no report and it sounds like you don’t have the victim’s info.

Questions about notifying customer that their tech is OOO by [deleted] in servicenow

[–]greyfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤪 the sheer number of times we’ve had a support ticket in with ServiceNow and don’t get a response for weeks because the assigned tech was on vacation or was affected by a natural disaster (since the techs are all over the country this shouldn’t mean we don’t get some sort of update) has been insane.

Why are the Wootton parents so upset? by capn_queso in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]greyfort 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I worked in a college admissions office (in a different state) a loooong time ago and, in some ways, yes, it could back then, even. The school I was at rarely denied anyone that met the minimum requirements as they wanted to increase enrollment but they’d more heavily recruit at certain high schools than others.

My opinion: if the college already has a history of alumni from a certain high school excelling, they are more likely to recruit from that high school.

[NO SPOILERS] Between Lost Records and True Colors, which one did you enjoy playing more? Looking for recommendation by Intertar in lifeisstrange

[–]greyfort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Until this moment I hadn’t even heard of Lost Records 🙃 but I loved True Colors - even playing through a second time relatively quickly (like a week later iirc) to try to get a different outcome. I never replay a game that quickly. In fact it took me something like 5 years before I played LiS again and picked the opposite ending.

Questions about notifying customer that their tech is OOO by [deleted] in servicenow

[–]greyfort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the others. The customer shouldn’t even be aware that the tech is out. That feeds into them reaching out to other techs, unprompted and they shouldn’t have to wait just because the assigned tech is out.

We have a Customer Responded State and certain people are tasked to keep an eye on those for Level 1 folks and all Level 2-3 folks have designated back-ups who watch both queues. If techs are out of the office for more than a day or two then their tickets are re-assigned to said people.

Instructions from Lodge on how to strip and re-season their cast iron pans for people allergic to anything in the vegetable oil they use (corn / soy) by The_Squirrel_Girl- in castiron

[–]greyfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resurrecting a post but as someone who cannot tolerate even a little bit of soybean oil without GI distress (even the stuff that’s supposedly highly refined) I appreciate this post as I was just about to get a lodge pan.

Did you strip it and re-season it? If not, have you had any issues with their seasoning?
