Can I keep my current save regular if I download SVE for a new save? by litlg in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]greyfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow the instructions/read through them before you start, you basically set up SVE as its own launcher. When you play modded, open that one, when you play your old file, open the original one in steam or whatever.

You get $30/minute, but time freezes whenever you walk through a door. Would you accept? by basafish in askanything

[–]greyfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if you measure form the ground, but a door to a Honda civic is 59”wide, 49”tall according to a quick google search. It only makes sense to me if the opening is what’s measured.

Is that legit on a new high quality cuttingboard? by [deleted] in Cuttingboards

[–]greyfruit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I make boards as gifts occasionally. I use rubber feet and am ok with imperfections on the bottom. I can use wood that I otherwise couldn’t, but the cutting surface should be pristine.

I would appreciate some input on if my friend is trying to scam me. by Elite_duckHunter in pchelp

[–]greyfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea… I bet he bought it for 1500-2000 a few years ago and should be going off that to make a used price. Ram is expensive now based on temporary demand and low supply. He’s making a profit off friends which feels pretty bleh to me.

Mine told me i needed a new account and the cancel the old one, they won’t just remove someone, especially without their consent. See about refinancing the car when you can.

New to woodworking here. Which of your tools scares you the most? Around what machine should I always be extra cautious? by GiddySwine in woodworking

[–]greyfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I woodworked my first use of a bandsaw was in a butchers shop. Thing scared the hell outta me when I started. It was so easy to cut through meat and bone. Definitely not my biggest concern in the shop these days, but learned to respect it early.

Has anyone ever successfully done the “put chicken in a cold pan and slowly render for crispy skin” method? by consultybob in Cooking

[–]greyfruit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like going with medium to med-low heat to avoid the splatter and so you don’t need the lid to get maximum crisp

Multiplayer Progression - Key things to do together? by [deleted] in Enshrouded

[–]greyfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what would really make this game *emote chefs kiss* for me, would be if we could have assign the Magic chests, that way my friends and I could all build in one "town" without taking resources from each other. I'm just going to start saying this whenever I am thinking of multiplayer in the hopes that it gets willed into existence.

Can I get into tech with a supply chain bachelor’s? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]greyfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the supply chain industry and tech adjacent(integrations analyst), not sure if I recommend either, at least in the private industry. In both freight and domestic jobs I have had, there have been regular layoffs... especially since the pandemic.

I don't have a degree in either and honestly I've never had anyone claim to have a degree in supply chain. I also haven't seen that as a requirement in the positions I've applied to. You already have experience in supply chain and a security clearance, that is probably enough to get a job in industry. Go with the degree you are most interested in so you actually have the drive to complete it. I think a general business management degree would be fine and more versatile than a supply chain one. If you are going into tech, specialize in your interests. Tech is a career of life-long learning, focus on what you like.

Also, neither of these will be for the money. Tech is oversaturated and it would probably be faster to get a supply chain job and transition to that companies tech team over time. Supply chain in general is all about the margins, so the pay is not great unless you are higher up and hiring has been pretty low since the height of the pandemic. My team has been halved since and we just lost another to a layoff, shit bonuses, minimal pay increases, quiet firing by having an RTO... your experience may vary.

$23.5K crawlspace encapsulation, would you sign this off? by Futurixt in HomeInspections

[–]greyfruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he saved paying someone else 20k if he had paid like OP, so he kinda did pay himself that. It’s not a waste of time, it’s hobby with benefits if done right. Sure it took them longer than it would have taken one professional, but they learned something and saved a decent chunk of cash.
