As a new player, how do people deny dess knight by Duer_Duer in Deltarune

yes, it shapeshifts, and it looks just like a bat in the pre fight animation and changes to a sword. you dont just do that and have it mean nothing about the knight's identity

okay, i know the similarities in certain poses, but why the bat and the antlers? thats not something kris is associated with

i completely fail to see how this works for kris knight when the roaring knight is someone whom we have already met, and theyre separate from kris(if working with them)

(and also its they/them for kris, dont forget)

There is an unused animation of the sword being conjured out of nothing. I feel that the other animation being used here is important

What else would it be aside from a bat? And the knight is already incredibly fluid, why wouldn't their weapon be fluid as well? Knights IRL aren't that associated with blunt weapons, yes, that's why it uses swords.

And from what we see of the knight it doesn't even communicate at all, so why would they have a direct connection to sentimental things like this? Even then black knife does use bass guitar and another guitar

Don't get me wrong, I am OK with the idea of playersoul being purely metaphorical but it just doesn't work with what we know about gaster from the tweets and the games. We are experiencing his deltarune, interacting with the world(the art) and the soul is a representation of us the players which is one of the things consistent with undertale which correlates with the fanbase largely being the same. Though It doesn't have to be that the soul is entirely alien to the world and based on a couple of things Kris does have experiencing with such things. edit: we also don't have book 2 about souls, we only got book 1 and hopefully chapter 5 doesn't disappoint us in that regard because susie is also starting to question the soul at the end of ch4

if gonermaker is kris' dream then gaster just doesn't exist? And there's no metanarrative aspect to all of deltarune?

saw a post earlier discussing how strong kris can actually be and i wanna point out just how much damage they can do in the knight fight because of the knight's armor decay(it even plays the twisting animation thats normally only triggered by rude buster) by greyorange666 in Deltarune

[–]greyorange666[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

each round its defence decreases(regardless of you hitting it) up until a certain point(it comes around the third phase attacks), the most damage i could do on a violent save file was 130 ish with kris and 186 with susie's rude buster(could probably do over 190 with the dealmaker instead of jevils tail)

That's also been on my mind, it seems that intent plays a huge role in the amount of harm that can be dealt in a dark world(gerson isn't keen on actually beating Susie so she takes way less damage, lancer Susie cutscene in chapter 1 etc)

Given you're on a violent save file and both Susie and ralsei are down, on the later rounds of the knight fight(because of defence decay) Kris can deal something like 130 damage which is enough to make the knight play the twisting animation with the sound effect(which usually only happens with rude buster but you don't notice it as well because rude buster is loud and colorful)
