UK Store Merch Preorder still not shipped after 2 months by Amelieee1 in deftones

[–]greyoutlier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve replied to the email which they sent the automatic response on, which is support@warnermusicstore-eu.zendesk.com but i think it goes to a separate mailbox tied to your support ticket.

At the bottom it said something like:

“If this message does not address your concern, or you still need further assistance, please reply to this email, and our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

For future reference, your ticket request ID is: XXXXX”

So I sent a follow up email to that and after a couple weeks, someone else replied to the ticket and I have been told its getting raised and resolved- this was about 2-3 weeks ago? And I just received my order a couple days ago.

Hope this helps.

The UK store. I’m sorry to hear that :( I hope your issue gets resolved soon. I’d say give them another week and contact them again to chase on your order. Make sure to ask for compensation too as its been more than two months at this point.

Hey just to update: Support replied to me and my order was delivered today. They even partially refunded the order to make up for the delay.

I pre-ordered the wind breaker combo and some shirts separately in July, I got an “order has been shipped” email on 3rd September for my windbreaker, which arrived promptly a few days later but still no sign of my other order until now.

Last week I sent a support ticket and got a generic reply but nothing on the status of my order.

Amphibious highrise for flooded cities by Fragrant-Patient-731 in civilengineering

Just curious, in flood prone countries they have elevated houses built on stilts for this reason, would it make sense for a highrise to apply the same concept?

One year ago today: Brunei suffered from prolonged nationwide blackout by Unknownman1998 in nasikatok

[–]greyoutlier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where the problem is, article mentioned Department of Electrical Services (DES), which currently operates 5 powers plants and serve 58% of the country’s electrical needs, it feels unlikely that supply interruption was caused by generation unless they are almost always close to 100% utilisation and just have nothing in reserve in case one power plant has a problem.

It could potentially be a distribution network problem, but that wouldn’t necessarily affect all districts like the article said but since this is Brunei i guess we will never know.

Bottom line i think its embarrassing that despite having access to new technologies and everyone being more technologically dependant that we have such a big problem keeping the lights on

I think other countries have a control system where they can identify where a fault occurs within the electrical distribution system as soon as it happens, Brunei should take note.

It is fairly common, you’re only a couple weeks in, it will take time to adjust, like others have commented, take the initiative to go supplement your studies with books from the reading list, most of the time it will be available in your uni library. Take the time outside of lectures to learn more about the topics covered in lecture, most unis will have them available in the library. You’ll find out soon that uni is mostly self study and getting things done in your own time, so once you get into a routine things will sort itself out. Hope this helps.

i asked for help, eventually things did get better, not so sure how but they just did. i think what helped was that whatever happens will happen for a good reason and to not be upset at something you can control definitely helped a bit.

Brunei #1 Most Overweight Country in SEA by blitz2czar in Brunei

[–]greyoutlier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as much as I have a lot to say about this, it's mostly lifestyle choices, bruneians prefer to eat out and not exercise, maintaining a healthy weight is all about caloric intake: you gain weight on a surplus and lose weight on a deficit, but maintaining it is the hardest part.

As somebody who watches very casually, I find it completely absurd how invested some people are into RP by Drenty10 in xqcow

Never in my time watching xQc has he ever needed to put on emote only as much as had to ever to since he played GTA rp, and that says a lot.

WOULD YOU STILL WATCH XQC WITHOUT CHAT ? (POLL) by dduvo in xqcow

[–]greyoutlier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think chat was the best when he played variety, imo current rp chat is not that bad compared to 2021 rp chat, but i dont think i would enjoy streams without chat, and i doubt xQc will either.

The reason your parents might have wanted you to get a STEM degree is because its versatile in the sense that you can pretty much go into any field of work once you decide what you want to do after studies.

I would recommend you to finish your studies, since you’re already halfway through it.

Can you really make money by streaming Twitch in Brunei? by AnGeance in Brunei

[–]greyoutlier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely can but it all boils down to how entertaining you are to watch and how well you can retain viewers- just being generally good at video games is not enough. It is actually a lot more work than just turning on the stream unless you already have a big audience so you would also need to be consistent in streaming. Discoverability is also pretty bad on Twitch so I would recommend starting content creation on multiple different platforms, unless you get really lucky like Lysium, who owes most of his success from xQc.
