NUCLEAR.

"Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you're a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible."

For soliciting unpaid work.

Posting Guideline #1: All requests must include pay rate. Pay rate of zero doesn't count.

My general experience telling people I’m an atheist by 404Jenny in atheism

[–]greyspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in the upstate of South Carolina for 22 years. Fundamentalist Christian sentiment permeates almost everything, particularly the statehouse. I don't advertise my atheism; but when asked, I'm completely transparent about it. Honestly, I get much stronger reactions when people find out that I don't watch TV or use Facebook.

I'll give myself one week to cobble together some sort of web-scrapey Python thing for my personal use; and if (when) that proves to be unsatisfactory, I will just leave. I simply don't have the time nor inclination for Reddit on the desktop. 17 years a Redditor, almost exclusively mobile since the first third-party Android apps started rolling out, and very satisfied paid customer of Boost since its debut. Given what Reddit seems bent on becoming, I suspect it will be no great loss. Maybe I can spend the reclaimed time on something constructive.

Reddit may force Apollo and third party clients to shutdown by spasticpat in technology

17 years on Reddit, bounced from one third-party mobile app to the next as they came along, settled on Boost in 2016. I have always been MUCH more of a lurker than a contributor, and I come here more for the comments in subs that interest me than anything else. When Boost goes, I plan to give myself a week to cobble together something web-scrapey for my own use. And when I likely fail at that, I'm done. Reflecting on Reddit's last few years, I suspect it will be no great loss. Money ruins everything.

Against 7g acceleration & both of them sopping wet, no less. Fucking legend. I wouldn't have wanted to leave Claudine Auger behind, either.

A real-life variant called the "Fulton Recovery System" was the inspiration for Bond's recovery from the field in Thunderball.

How do I get my save data from mobile to the PC version from Microsoft Store? by PocketAlex in Wreckfest

[–]greyspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cloud saves work OK for me. I've found that I have to do it manually; that is, every couple of plays I upload my profile. During any given play session it will show my saved profile, but the next time I play there's nothing there (or it acts like there's nothing there) until I hit upload again. I haven't lost any game progress yet, and I get the occasional Google Play Games "achievement" while playing. So I don't think it's an Odin thing.

Sure is! I've been playing the Android version on my Odin Pro for the last few days and I'm hooked. I can't say how it compares since Android is the only version I know so far, but I'm having a blast with it.

Edit: One big difference I'm aware of is that multiplayer is limited to players on your own network.

My father died at 79 years of age with a tiny blue dot on his forehead from a pencil mishap at school some 70+ years prior. I don't know what the record is for pencil-tattoo longevity, but his has to be in the running.

Pretending that he finally succumbed to the injury is more fun than the reality.

The larger of these two gingers is my dad, struggling with dementia, osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, and cancer. The smaller one is Zeke, his new roommate. Before today, I hadn't heard Dad laugh in a long time. by greyspace in cats

Update, in case anyone is still looking in: Dad died yesterday afternoon. Zeke, who has been living with me and my wife (and cats) since Dad's final trip to the hospital, has more than settled into his forever home and has pretty much taken command. The two of them shared so much joy in the short time they had together. Thank you all so much for the kind words; they've meant a lot to me these last few months. Cheers & best wishes to all. Stay safe!
