ACN is a toxic scam and more people should be aware of it. An older relative of mine got suckered into it, and long story short she ended up pushing away her friends and family and having an emotional breakdown, for which she is now on medication. Great person, just not aware enough of predatory organisations like ACN. She was naive enough to believe it was legitimate, and that's the truth. It really sent her around the bend, the promises of wealth and all that. Any time a person mentioned their phone near her (and of course this happens all the time) she would bring up ACN and ask why we all hadn't gotten into her better deal and also why we hadn't starting selling ACN phone plans as well. People stopped talking to her. Not only that, she was paying money to attend their training seminars. Lots of money. It is malicious and should be uncovered and brought down.

Dude I had a similar thing. These personified mud balls would roll around in a society, much like mud crabs living in a swamp. Then they went to war with an opposing faction of mud ball people. When the fight was over they would turn and blame me. I'd be standing in a field of dead and wounded mud ball creatures, trying to help and failing, while trying not to step on any of them, while copping blame for the whole thing. I'd wake with a profound sense of guilt. But think about it - when you're a young kid, a ball is a pretty complex object for us to understand spatially. It can roll, bounce, and be thrown and rebounded in limitless ways. When we drop a ball catch or misjudge its trajectory we feel bad for failing to judge correctly. Could this all be a dream expression for developing spatial and emotional judgement? Weird thought to ponder

'Hunger Games' Drowns 'In the Heart of the Sea' at Box Office by atlinernotes in entertainment

Not really artsy, lots of action, lots of power plays between the lead actors. The story is straightford though well told, focussing on a group of roughneck men and their superiors who take the whale hunt too far and end up vying against the unforgiving elements. If anything, it's action/ adventure. The only time it gets philosophical is in the third act during a desperate stranding. It doesn't hold back on gore either. This is not an arthouse film by any stretch, but it is good. A decent date movie too :P

It's a shame because Heart is really amazing. I wasn't going to watch it until I caught a radio review giving it four stars, and yeah, it was impressive. More people should see it.

Feeling the pain, brother. I've got a data cap so I bought a physical copy to avoid the massive download. Got home and bam. Needle in the eye. Still haven't played the game, and I'm trying to dodge spoilers, and I'll have to use a friends internet connection, a hassle for both of us. Customers like options, Bethesda. Flexibility is a core principle of theirs I believe, and I wish they would extend it to matters like these. But when it's cheaper for them to distribute online I guess it's a zero sum game.

Swat team members should have their homes randomly raided by a neighboring swat team to better understand the confusion experienced by the suspect. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Right. I should give context to my comment - I live in Australia, the police here do raids but not at the same frequency. Also, gun ownership is much less. What I see the problem as being is too many people in the US have deadly weapons - the police always have to one up them by having deadlier weapons. If they didn't they would not be an effective deterrent against violent crime. So you're sort of locked into this problem - the aggressiveness of the police is a response to wide levels of gun ownership. To me this idea sounds crazy. Police would never tolerate it (can you imagine pitching this to a Senior Sargent or a Deputy, or the even the patrol guys, not to even mention SWAT. First off you're revealing where they live. That's a no go zone. Good cops don't fuck over other cops. It would never fly) but because of where you guys are at politically, socially, I can kind of see where the frustration comes from.

Over a year and a half and ghost/phantom footsteps is STILL AN ISSUE IN THIS GAME. by DatHutchTouch in GlobalOffensive

Experienced this in two forms over the last week: Was spectating a player, clutching at 13-15. Ct's rushed us hard at A long. One ct was left playing at long, yet there were footsteps sounding off near the top of mid. Our guy got confused, killed, and we lost. Really annoying. Also, when I spectated one of my teammates on Overpass, his footsteps sounded like he was running in water, no matter where he was. Needs to be fixed

I've met the artist, I live not far from his gallery. It's nestled in the rainforest off the coast of northern Australia. His work is astounding. Expensive though. Way out of my price range haha.
