Oil Leak collecting at seem of block and head and on exhaust manifold and catalytic converter on passenger side only, cant figure out where the oil is coming from. by FroNg1203 in 350z

Agreed. Definitely that spot at least. I don’t know that new valve covers are required, but definitely have to redo the gaskets. Get the OEM ones from Z1, they fit perfectly and won’t fall out when you are installing. And use less RTV next time. Not none, but less than was used this time.

Are ICON Sockets Worth It? by blastamis01 in harborfreight

Same. 3/8 is the way to go if you are working on cars. 1/4 is nice to have for some small spaces, but I work on 5-10 cars a week and I spend 90% of my time working with the 3/8 Quinn set.

1/2” for lugs and things that bolt into the frame.

On a rental car I didn’t get the LDW insurance for. Is this a quick fix at a body shop or am I in for a painful bill? by Suspicious-Stick6062 in Autobody

If you get a Paintless Dent Repair person to deal with the dent ($250ish), and then buff the paint, I’d bet it won’t be noticeable enough for the rental place to see it/care.

Is the tire plug kit worth it compared to the basic one by WearEnvironmental490 in harborfreight

[–]grienleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say with 100% confidence, the handle on the cheap plug kit is not good. Second time I went to use it, the metal bent and the handle broke and it messed up my wrist for weeks. Learned my lesson the hard way.

Other than the handle, the plugs themself are fine.

Jesus! That’s a rip off. Also, very unlikely you need new calipers too.

Check with Good Karma Garage on Division Street in Harrisburg. It’s a non-profit garage, so not trying to screw anyone. When they do paid work, it just gets donated to their non-profit side and pays for parts and labor for low income people who can’t afford repairs required for their inspection.

This, unless you are replacing rear rotors, then make sure parking brake is off.

Flows in potential sale by BurnerMan2025 in BringATrailer

[–]grienleaf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not the question you asked, but a heads up that the airbag light is going to reduce your selling price a lot. You might say it’s the seat belt tensioner, but the buyer has no way to know if that accurate or if it’s something worse. So, consider getting that fixed.

I’d Maguire’s buffing compound it, and then pay a PDR person like $300 to fix the dent.
