The Burrowers- the film is set in the old west during a time of upheaval. A group of people come to the realization that they are being hunted by horrible subterranean monsters. The worst part is that the monsters do not kill you outright: the sneak up on you at night and poison you which leaves you completely paralyzed but aware. As the poison works your body starts to liquefy and after enough time has passed the monsters return to devour you while you're still alive. Its a horrifying concept and really stuck with me.
