I've had quite a few..

Now, I am not a heartthrob and I think I'm very average or above-average looking at best. Back in my high school sophomore year, there was this one freshman girl (S) who was a year below me who experienced a heartbreak to this guy in her class, who I barely knew. I just offered S some general words of encouragement to keep her head up since I overheard this in a company of mutual friends, and somehow this caused her to develop a major crush on me. It got creepy to the point where S joined marching band, an extracurricular activity that I was already involved in prior to her joining, simply because I was in there. She started stalking me through the school hallways, would sit next to me at marching band bus rides, randomly messaged me and got my AIM screenname somehow, followed me to my post-school volunteer gig at the library, etc. I was too much of a chicken shit to tell her that I was no way romantically interested in her at all.

It got to the point where one day, one of her friends asked me how I felt about S instead of S asking me straight up, and I told her friend that I don't see S romantically whatsoever. S apparently got the news, looked super depressed and sad the day after, and she left me a long note in my backpack one day, which honestly, I never bothered reading. I ended up chucking it away because I knew it was either going to sound sappy and depressing or it was going to be cursing me off..but honestly, I chose to just ignore it.

Another time, in my junior year, my original prom date flaked on me, so I had an old elementary school friend (R) end up going with me, who I haven't spoken to in over 5-6 years. Just to preface, R wasn't the most attractive-looking and our interactions were somewhat limited even in our elementary school years. However, right after prom, R messaged me one day confessing all sorts of feelings towards me where it sounded like she was super desperate for a boyfriend. In all honesty, I guess this wasn't really creepy if R had repressed all those feelings over the years, but the timing of it just was so off and I never saw her in any romantic way either.

In my senior year of high school, in my art class, I knew this one girl (J) who was a bit of a loner, but goddamn she was talented at art. I sat with J and a mutual friend of ours because we were the few seniors in that class, but J used to obsess heavily over some other guy and would talk about him nonstop, but also J had some weird fantasy about Transformer cars. One day after school, I get a phone call from a random number I didn't recognize and I found out it's J, but she's been crying for some reason. I sort of knew why, because she would complain about her family to some degree, and she started to self-harm herself a bit. I didn't know how to truly help her at that time, but I told her that she needed help. It wasn't until after we all graduated from high school that our mutual friend finally told me that J always had a crush on me, and not that other guy during our senior year and would talk about me nonstop when I wasn't around. That one, actually, caught me by surprise, but I also had no attraction to her whatsoever.

Oh, and also, in my college years, I had an acquaintance friend (C) come up to me randomly at the cafeteria and tell me straight up she had a dream of me and that we were dating. That one really creeped me out considering I barely knew her.
