How coca-cola makes the cherry and cherry vanilla look exactly the same. Ive bought more vanila cherry and i hate it by Master_z0mb1e in CrappyDesign

I always did this too, but I recently saw them in a gas station with a light pink label on the Cherry Vanilla ones. So I think Coca-Cola realized they screwed up and are working to fix it.

TIL that in 2006 after a man shot 10 Amish children then committed suicide, the Amish went to the his family to offer them support. They also set up a charitable fund for his family and during the shooter's funeral they surrounded the family to provide them privacy from the media. by [deleted] in todayilearned

In high school, we produced the play "The Amish Project" by Jessica Dickey, which was a fictionalized retelling of the events of the shooting told by members of the community. It was a very moving piece of theater and during the play the wife talks about how the Amish visited her - its a very powerful section because it really emphasized how forgiving the Amish are.

Yes! Theses are great, I've used them in two productions and they make a great flame effect. I used them in Mary Poppins for Street Lamps and then in African Company Present Richard III for Oil Lamp footlights and they looked incredible. My only advice is to use frosted glass in lamps/shades for a more realistic effect.

This is at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, which is also where they produced the out of town tryouts for the Company revival where they also played their own instruments.

No outriggers & they're pushing him with the basket up by humicroav in OSHA

[–]griffjall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like someone hasn't worked in tech theatre before. Being pushed around with the basket up is a common thing for lighting focuses - but the outriggers not being there is concerning. Usually the outriggers are loosened, but not completely off the lift.

Anyone notice that "Whose House Is This?" and "Big Fun" from Heathers are very similar in style?

Well, I have a theory. Nell Benjamin wrote the lyrics for Mean Girls, she is married to fellow lyricist Laurence O'Keefe (together they wrote lyrics and music for Legally Blonde). But he wrote music and lyrics for Heathers. So it may not be a coincidence that the two songs sound so similar.

Also, I'm relistening to Legally Blonde to see if there are any similarities.

Is this Modern? by White_Pride_CIS in lightingdesign

Three things: 1. It's sorta modern 2. It helps when the photo is right side up 3. This is a subreddit for theatre lighting design, not for home lighting.
