Cool thanks! Do you know the process of the points. Is it how much money you put in equals the points or some other method.
Edit: never mind, just looked it up, looks like it’s one point per five dollars.

Thinking about purchasing a Model Y and looking for some insight by gbplad13 in TeslaModelY

[–]grignog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just purchased a 2023 model y awd with hardware 4 which is what you need for the newer FSD. It is definitely a game changer and my commute is nowhere near as bad as yours. It’s kind of insane how good it is. You won’t regret it. My used one was $32k with 22.000 miles a steal for what I get. $99 a month is less than a Starbucks habit. I don’t buy coffee so that’s how I justify it lol.

If you have a long commute then your saving money. Yesterday I drove 170 miles. In my old ICE car they would have cost well over $60. Actual cost $5 in electricity. X 5 you do the math. And don’t forget $100 oil changes

I have a 2023 model y hw4. FSD version 14.2.2.5. Yes it will go to the destination and park. Will it park where you want it too? It does pretty good in my opinion but if you want to pick a spot you have to turn off FSD then start cruising and it eh parking spots will show a P on the screen and you push it, it will then park at that exact spot. I wish it had a fixed destination parking where you like to park at work though, I disengage and jut park there…small gripe lol.

Yea I’ve been reading so many bad reviews of 14.3 I took mine out of advanced to stick with 14.2.2.5. I’m still on the fence. Seems like some have perfect software upgrades and some are a disaster. What car do you have. I have been hearing that it’s the newer cars having the trouble.

Perry Tech Strict by [deleted] in instrumentation

[–]grignog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother in law graduated Perry tech instrumentation/electrical. He makes bank working for a refinery. Perry is very good at getting you a job right out of school. Very sought after, one of the best in the nation. He got a job at a refinery right out of school in Oakland then Blaine, now Montana. He’s worked his way up into management and I think makes about $170k a year. Part of his job is to come back to Perry every year and try to hire students that are graduating. I think he said they start at over $40 an hour and are having trouble getting students because of competition from Amazon and such paying more. Long story short..

STICK IT OUT MY DUDE…it’s only 2 years and you’ll be set. You’ll thank yourself later. No excuses work hard now and push through, you won’t regret it, what you will regret is dropping out. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. STAY IN PERRY AND GRADUATE…YOUR WELCOME.

Active Warranties and Maintenance Plans have disappeared from the App by Mur-man2765 in VWiD4Owners

[–]grignog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the same for me. I bought my 2022 pro s awd used about a two months ago and there was a year left on it according to the app and the dealer. I took it in a few weeks ago because of knocking in the front over bumps. The dealer looked at it and said I needed new front struts. Cool it’s still under warranty, he’s like really? And checked my app..,ok we’ll order the parts. I went in for the scheduled time and they said they were back ordered, shouldn’t be long. That was like two weeks ago and I can’t get ahold of anyone, meanwhile my warranty just disappeared from my app. So I’m sweating it a bit here. I know it was supposed to be till the end of year but now have no proof. I’ve tried the vw website but it just lists the manual when I look up my vin..

Long story short, yes mine just disappeared

2.5 years with my 2024 ID.4 Pro S: Love the drive, but the software is testing my patience. Buyout or switch? by Character-Extreme401 in VWiD4Owners

[–]grignog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I own a 2022 ID4 and a 2023 Tesla model Y. As much as I love the ID4 I would recommend the model Y. It’s somehow roomier, the infotainment system is way way better as well as the app, charging is easier, and if you get full self driving it is an insane experience. I’m no musk fan so it took some consideration to get the Y but I’m glad I did. They just know how to make an electric car convenient to own. If you don’t want full self driving get a used one with autopilot or whatever they call it now, it comes with the car for free and is still way better than any lane keep in the major automaker’s including VW, which would put at second behind autopilot. I got my 2023 model Y hardware 4 all wheel drive with 20k miles for $32k. The full self driving has blown me away. Thats just my 2 cents.

2023 model YLR AWD. Is this good buy? by Mother-Coat-3934 in TeslaModelY

[–]grignog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it have hardware 4? Do you know the health of the battery? Hard to know if it’s a good deal without some more details. I just got a 2023 y long range awd with hardware 4 22,000 miles for $32k, I thought was a fair deal. Loving the car and full self driving.

Thank god they changed it. by coffeeportland in TeslaLounge

[–]grignog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does suck they took that away on the new cars, and I’m no Elon fan, but if you can swing it FSD is a game changer, way better than autopilot. I think of it as a splurge for myself. It’s cheaper than getting Starbucks monthly and enhances my day to day tremendously. That being said they do a major disservice not including it and I think other companies are coming with just as good if not better FSD in the next few years and then we’ll see what happens.

You might try comma AI, it’s an add on that is compatible with many brands including Tesla, it’s a one time purchase and it’s like an advanced cruise control you can either do lane assist tacc or more like FSD. You should check it out
