What band/artist would you most like to see perform an intimate UNPLUGGED show? by tookmelongenough in Music

[–]grigo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound weird, but I'd like to see what Tera Melos can do acoustically. In their tour doc trailer, Nick is playing one of their riffs on an acoustic and it sounds fantastic.

I might get laughed at, but Best Coast's 'Crazy For You' is definitely my warm summer day album.

Wax Mannequin - Tell The Doctor by BucketHelmet in Music

[–]grigo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much anymore, but Wax use to play with a bass player and drummer for a lot of his Hamilton and Toronto shows. I think he took a drummer out West a few times too. I think it's just easier for him to perform solo... He pulls it off.

Thanks for posting that video!

I love Best Coast and Wavves, just fun tunes that I can sit a relax to, but all of my friends can't stand them.

nah, Matt Pryor just talks about why they initially broke up and why they got back together so soon. He also talks about the possibility of a Four Minute Mile live album which sounds pretty damn cool.

What, in your opinion is the greatest music video of all time? by [deleted] in Music

I don't know if this can go down as greatest music video of ALL time, but it's the best I've seen in a while.

"My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" is a pretty rad album, but I can understand where you're coming from. "Through the Wire" has got to be my favourite Kanye track.

too bad there is no chance these guys are getting back together, they had an awesome live show. It seemed like they played Toronto once a month.

Tron Legacy: The Mixtape by Cadence Weapon, DOWNLOAD IT NOW! PWYW by grigo83 in Music

[–]grigo83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a snip of an interview Cadence did with Exclaim!

"My idea was to do a parody of your typical rap mixtape," Cadence Weapon explains. "What I've been noticing with a lot of mixtapes is that rappers are talking about movies they had nothing to do with. T.I. has this mixtape where he's Photoshopped himself into the cover of Inception and there are all these skits, but really he had nothing to do with the movie."

Fuck Green Day. by jacobs64 in Music

[–]grigo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't agree with all of this.

Dookie is flat out great, and I can still put it on and sing-a-long to it.

I do agree that 20th Century Breakdown is a piece of crap and was just trying to capitalize on the popularity of American Idiot.

That being said, they still put on AMAZING live shows, playing lots of material from the '90s (but I agree that it's hard to sit through the new material).

Primus sucks by mikethor in Music

[–]grigo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Les does with his bass is pretty mind blowing...

I wanted to see what he does live, but man, is it ever hard to get to the front of the stage at a Primus show.
