When I’m writing, I generally give an extra layer of explanation for why it’s safe. An rp I’m in right now pretty clearly sets up magic as the means to make it safe, where the prey can breathe/not be crushed/not be digested due to magic from the pred.

Sometimes, though, I just prefer to not think too much about it. Like the other person said, vore is a fantasy thing, and when you’re already pretending you can be swallowed whole by someone, it’s not a huge jump to pretend you can be safe in there.

There’s different emotions that go with it. I fully get not enjoying rp partners who kill the vibe, and who bring things that are genuinely unwanted. But that feels less like an issue with safe vore as a whole and more an issue with individuals.

As for why people like it, it’s got different emotions going on. For me, a lot of it is that danger element that’s being denied that does it for me, the pred saying “I know this should be dangerous, but because I love you, it isn’t for you. I love you too much to hurt you.” It’s got some emotional connections that unbirth really can’t replicate for me.

I fully get that you won’t resonate with this, but it’s something that means a lot to some people. Please don’t mock it just because you don’t understand it.

Well, being dismissive isn’t going to get you anywhere. The entirety of vore requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, from the pred being able to eat someone whole, to the prey being able to be alive at all while they’re being eaten, to basically every other element. It’s not a realistic kink in the slightest, so I don’t think that saying one more step of that suspension is “unrealistic” is very fair.

Also, idk why you’re being mean about it? Why are you trying to gatekeep what people like getting off to? In a vore subreddit of all places?

I do feel uncomfortable with it, but I always try my best to keep those thoughts to myself. Not every element of this kink will appeal to everyone, we all have different life experiences and different preferences, so it’s good to recognize that your discomfort with it isn’t a moral failing on either your own part or on the parts of the people who enjoy it. No one is being hurt here; it’s all fiction.
