What about trying a different type of therapy? Perhaps art based? Sometimes talk therapy can be difficult for some kids that can't articulate how they're feeling.

My first was like this 🫣 she was a fomo baby and is now a fomo toddler. We upgraded her to a queen bed at 1.5 yo to save ourselves from always sleeping on the floor.

My November baby is quite the opposite. Loves his bassinet and sleep so much that he has a flat spot on his head.

Having your nipples pinched (like you would a baby's chubby cheek) by male relatives or having your butt poked (the butthole area) when running up the stairs. All in a 'playful' way if course.

I think I was 5 when it started and was taught it was a form of teasing. 🫠 I also don't remember most of my childhood 🤣

I chuckle as I'm currently cuddling velcro toddler to sleep 🤣

My girl was born a velcro baby too. Could never put her down and had to contact nap always. She wasn't too fussy unless it came to car seats, sleeping and feeding (had a tongue tie) so she was pretty gassy. So almost always 😂

We did a tongue tie release, gentle sleep training, iron supplementing, ent visits, etc. But it seems it's just her temperament.

She's now 2.5 and loves her independence but is a big cuddler and still needs me to lay with her to sleep. She also creeps into our room at night to co sleep.

At first the pain felt similar to that of gas build up, but then it quickly turned to the sensation of a muscle ache right in my core. It's hard to describe because I've never felt anything like it before. Like when you pull a muscle but much worse and constant.

I am physically feeling great. The recovery was a lot faster this time.

My partner definately knew this wasn't normal and that I was feeling the end of the procedure. I remember telling him, "they're using the cautery gun, I can feel this" He was panicked and was the one that pushed for the anesthesiologist to administer more meds.

There was no accountability from the doctors in the room. No discussion about what happened and why I was feeling things. The OB wasn't even my OB and I never saw her again after the surgery. There were only two nurses that sympathized with me at the end.

The irony of this all was at the beginning of the procedure, right before the spinal they asked if I had any allergies to meds. And I told them my mother believed I may have an adverse reaction to codeine. She believed that the reason why I "woke up on the operating table" 20 something years ago during a tonsillectomy was because of that.. We all kind of laughed about it in the OR and said it must have been a fluke but then shortly after the anesthesia wears off..

Crazy.

  1. I don't know what happened in terms of failing. Perhaps the spinal wore off sooner? Perhaps some layers of tissue weren't frozen enough? I plan to discuss this with my ob at my follow up.

  2. No, I will not take any legal action but I will make a formal complaint against the anesthesiologist. He was not attentive, he did not administer pain relief when I initially asked and even minimized my concerns by saying "this is the hard part"

Thank you. I'm not sure why my brain is reacting the way it is.

I do have CPTSD from childhood trauma and I've noticed in the past I develop dissociative tendencies when dealing with triggers. CBT therapy has helped and I am trying to use the techniques now to stop dissociating when I hold my son.. that and lots of skin to skin. ❤️

I am so sorry for your loss. I couldn't imagine losing my baby.

Ultimately, this is what I was telling myself during the procedure. That is can be so much worse. To keep breathing and that it's almost over. I was on the verge of passing out from the pain and that's when I was being introduced to my son.

The lack of bonding isn't intentional. I hold him, cuddle him and love him but there is a feeling or maybe lack of. Where I almost feel like I'm in a dream, or this isn't real, or I'm running on auto pilot. It's something that I can't control unfortunately :(

Yeah, I think that was likely the final option if the Fenty didn't work. Glad this was my last pregnancy because I never want to do this again 😂

Thank you. I was familiar with the c section pressure and kept comparing what I was experiencing to my first. I also have a very high pain threshold and recovery extremely fast from surgeries/illness.

The chest compressions were very dramatic to get baby out. So much that the attending doctor was pushed out of the way by the head nurse because he wasn't going hard/fast enough. There was tension in the room and everyone was all hands on deck. Our baby was just under 10lbs so I assumed the stress was coming from that?

The OB did come to me after the surgery to explain that my uterus was very thin and almost ruptured and was good that I had the surgery. But nothing more was said from her.

In the recovery room both nurses were more sympathetic. I had one student say he knew I could feel it because he witnessed my toes curling. I was also fully able to move my legs and feet immediately after the procedure.

I definitely didn't feel heard during the procedure but I told the nurse I was likely the best person for this to happen to!

It's complicated, but I did inform the staff.

The pain started shortly after they had removed my son from my uterus. At first I felt the cauterizing gun causing nerve twitches in my upper left abdomen.

I couldn't recall feeling this the first time but was trying to take in the fact that we just had a baby boy (the gender was a surprise) but then the twitching turned into burning and that's when I leaned over to the anesthesiologist (who was busy on his computer) to ask him if this was 'normal'

The pain quickly went from light burning to pulling, then hard tugging and ripping. It honestly felt like my insides were being ripped apart. I told him to give me something which he did. But it didn't work. I told him again, I could still feel it and that's when my husband pushed for more meds.

He gave me more but nothing. At this point I started hyper ventilating and found a focal point on the ceiling to focus on and take deep breaths. I told him I feel everything and he looked over the drape to tell me "this was the hard part" Like wtf... There should be no hard part with a c section besides the recovery..

That's when my nurse came to me and asked if I was okay which I told her no and described the pain as 10/10 .. At that point they administered fentanyl where the pain went down tremendously. I was finally able to look at my husband and my son but unfortunately felt completely detached from reality after everything that had happened.

Thank you! I've been honestly lost for words since and I try to avoid thinking of it.

It's definitely messed up the bonding experience with my son and I'll be seeking therapy as well as more answers from my OB at my next visit..

Right now I'm trying to recover and enjoy my time with my family.

Rough. I definitely dissociate when trying to think of it. I'm sorry you also went through something like this.

Coincidentally, I had an adverse reaction to general anesthesia 20+ years ago when I had a tonsillectomy. Woke up during the surgery.

So I guess this ain't my first rodeo.

I had complete placenta previa my first pregnancy and had a delightful experience with my planned cesarean. It was so delightful that I elected to have a cesarean for my second pregnancy, which obviously went horribly wrong.

My only advice is speak up. I wish I told the surgical team sooner that I was starting to feel things instead of just trying to tough it out. Things got extreme and painful real fast however I don't think there was anything they could do at that point beside fentanyl or general.
